I wonder how much damage is caused be the phrase "we're in a relationship". Two people can never have a relationship. Instead, they have two relationships: the relationship of person A to person B, and the relationship of person B to person A. These relationships are not the same, cannot possibly be the same. This is terrifying. But you get used to it.
