Key & Compass presents:
Camping!
by Gunther Schmidl

Camping! is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 6 and is © 1999 by Gunther Schmidl. It was an entry in InventoryComp, also known as I-Comp, where it took 2nd place. There were only two entries.

In this teeny-tiny joke game, you play as someone going camping. Just grab your backpack and go!

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 666 of the game.

Walkthrough

(win) Hallway

The idea behind InventoryComp is that the player-character never has any inventory, and this was clarified to mean that whenever the player enters the INVENTORY (or I command), the game will always respond with You are empty-handed or whatever the equivalent default response your authoring system normally produces.

So, playing by the rules of the competition, if not the intent, this is what Gunther submitted.

Hallway

> take backpack. i. open backpack.

> x stuff. take stuff. n.

Thank You to my Patreon supporters

This walkthrough is provided free of charge since I wrote this walkthrough prior to January 2015 when I began my Patreon account, and also because the work it's based on has less than fifteen locations (so I wouldn't have charged for it anyway). I've since reformatted this walkthrough to use my currently preferred style. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still creating new walkthroughs! Larger ones too! Please visit my Patreon account if you're interested in helping me create more interactive fiction walkthroughs. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks again.
