The oldest hangover on Earth is a Z-machine interactive fiction game written with Inform 7 and is © 2015 by Marius Müller. It was entered Ectocomp 2015 where it took 2nd place in La Petite Mort division.

You play as someone who got mummified for a lark centuries ago, then woke up with their cat in modern times. Unfortunately, you're missing a few vital organs which you'll need to replace before you can make your way in this new world.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Walkthrough

Darkness

> stand. open sarcophagus.

Examination room

> x me. i. stand.

Instead, you toss the salad on the floor, summoning a vaccuming drone.

> break laptop. take cpu. x it.

> put cpu in heart. (+1. You are now fully functional.)

It's not obvious which way the door is.

There's only one other character, unless you think the drone counts:

Khepera is your cat, also mummified but just as awake as you are. (Unfortunately, you cannot just call him "cat".)

Only mentioned:

Pinedjem I and Masaharta, your drinking buddies, are mentioned when you open the sarcophagus.
Caesar is mentioned when you examine the salad.

Inventory

an a book on hieroglyphs. It's on the steel table; read it.
a laptop. It's on the counter; read it after reading the book. Then break it and take its CPU.
a dead mouse. It's in the lung urn. Put it on the drone to entice Khepera to attack the drone.
a food processor. It's in the fridge. Take the salad from it, then put the processor into the stomach urn.
a drone. To summon it, take the processor from the fridge, then the salad from the processor. To disable the drone, put the dead mouse on the drone. Take the drone and put it in the lung urn.
a CPU. After successfully reading the laptop, break the laptop and take its CPU. Put the CPU into the heart urn.
a coat. It's on the hook in the hallway. Wear it.
a newspaper. There's a stack of newspapers in the entry hall. Take a newspaper and examine (not read) it.

Score

You have so far scored your-score out of a possible 3, in several turns.

1 point for putting the food processor in the stomach urn.
1 point for putting the drone in the lung urn.
1 point for putting the CPU in the heart urn.
