You play as a human employee in Divine Investigations and the fallen angel Yechaedriel has a job for you. He was cursed by God after he lost a bet with the demon Shadiel, so now he's hoping you can go up to Heaven and find a way to get him a pardon.

This solution is by David Welbourn, and is based on Release 1 of the game.

Your office

For the opening bit, do what you like, but make sure you say "yes" when asked if we have a deal. Answering "no" is fatal.

Characters

An angry angel is in your office. He's a seraph named Yechaedriel.
Some tormented women, tortured by scorpions, are in Circle 7. They are cursed because they love alligators.
A demon is also in Circle 7.
Some alligators are in the alligator pit. You can't actually interact with them, though.

Mentioned:

The demon Shadiel is mentioned by the angel. Also the diary at the end of the game is Shadiel's.
The biblical figure Job, and God are also mentioned by the angel.

Endings

You have died

if you say "no" to the angel's job offer,
or if you try to kill the demon in Circle 7,
or if you spend too much time in the alligator pit,
or if you stop moving or go any direction but south while running away from the alligators.

Another day, another demon when you read the diary.

Inventory

a bag of rusty lead-painted metal bits. It's in the Armory. Drop it when you're running away from the alligators.
a journal. It's the diary in the Plains of Hell. Read it.

Honorable Mention:

a fiery sword. It's in the Armory. You can't actually take it because it's too hot.
