[slingergame] Bert says, "Log on."

[slingergame] DM takes out his Walther TPK and places it on the table. 'Well, well. A few minutes left to go.'

[slingergame] DM asks, "Any questions during these last minutes?"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "I heard mentions of levelling up -- there wasn't a level change between last week and now, was there?"

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "it was just Donaar who needed to level up"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Cool."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "And we've had a long rest since the last time we expended any resources?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Well..."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Or am I still down a couple of Bardic Inspirations?"

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "yup"

[slingergame] Cason says, "OK."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Doctor Cason is in the house"

[slingergame] Celaeno asks, "oh yeah -- did anyone mention that maybe wererats don't work the way they seemed to last session?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Tale did"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "ie, they don't take any damage at all from nonmagical weapons oh okay thanks Tale"

[slingergame] DM says, "But it's okay, all will be explained."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "So just to be clear about that"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Why do you think his character was stuck in a coma and he was asked not to come back this week?"

[slingergame] Celaeno asks, "Our magical sword -- is it a short sword, and is the bard using it?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "The last I heard, Daisy had it."

[slingergame] DM says, "it's a shortsword, and it's probably belowdecks since Daisy didn't take it with her onto the deck."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Alright good enough for me"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "ready to go when y'all are"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Me too."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "I'm good."

[slingergame] DM says, "To recap: the Icebird is at a foot of a small cliff, which is not much higher than the crows' nest. Deadshot Daisy is on top of the cliff, having been rescued from a watery grave by none other than Donaar. Donaar, in a sensational move, has jumped onto the deck of the Icebird, and is surrounded by zombies. Cason, our talented bard and (apparent) expert in the medical arts is in the crows' nest."

DM says, "The zombies and skeletons back away from Donaar, showing a mixture of fear and respect on their undead faces. The bloody rain stops falling. And then a hideously deformed version of One-Hook Burton climbs slowly onto the Icebird and shakes the seaweed from his hair. He has only one arm, still holding his sword. His empty eye sockets burn with unnatural fire. And his voice echoes like thunder through your minds:"

(From DM) 'I AM PLUTATHROS, BROTHER OF MITHROS. I AM THE GOD OF THE DEAD AND LORD OF THE BLOODLIGHTS!'

[slingergame] DM asks, "What do you, the adventurers, say to that?"

[slingergame] Donaar eek! :D

[Crows-Nest] (from Cason) Cason says, "And I'm Guybrush Threepwood, mighty pirate!"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "uhh"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "aren't zombies like vampires where they're powerless unless you invite them onto your boat"

Cason says (to Burton), "Wait, let me get this straight."

Cason asks, "You were a pirate, and then you were some kind of lava monster. And now you're a god?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Heh."

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says (to Cason), "If someone asks you if you're a god, you say 'yes'."

Cason asks, "And you needed *me* to put on puppet shows for your galley slaves to make your boat go faster?"

(From DM) One-Hook sneers. 'BURTON WAS MERELY A TOOL, THAT I MIGHT REGAIN THE POWER WE ONCE HAD. I MADE HIM AN OFFER HE COULDN'T REFUSE. HE THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE HIM IMMORTALITY, IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL.'

Celaeno steps back above decks. "What's all this then... oh."

(From DM) 'FOR WE ARE THE FORGOTTEN GODS. NO ONE WORSHIPS US, HENCE OUR POWER OVER THIS WORLD IS DIMINISHED.'

Cason says, "Well, I can certainly see why."

Cason asks, "And you think that taking over fishing boats is somehow going to help you get a seat in the pantheon?"

Donaar chuckles, despite himself.

Cason perches on the edge of the crows nest, legs and arms crossed, looking vaguely judgmental.

(From DM) 'I NEED ONLY DAISY'S SOUL. THAT WILL BE ALL.'

Cason says, "Yeah, nah. That one's not on offer. Try again."

(From DM) 'YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I TOLD THE PIRATES TO FIND ME A GNOME, ONE WILLING TO SWEAR THE BLOOD OATH WHICH WOULD BIND THEM UNKNOWINGLY TO ME. THAT GNOME IS NOW THE GATEWAY THROUGH WHICH MY ALLIES CAN REACH THE WORLD OF THE LIVING. THE WEAVE OF FATE TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD FIND THE ONE WHOSE PATH WOULD CROSS THAT OF THOSE WHO SEEK TO DESTROY US, THOSE WHO HOLD THE GOD-KILLER IN THEIR FILTHY MORTAL HANDS... '

(From DM) 'IF YOU STAND IN OUR PATH, YOU WILL BE NO BETTER THAN THEM. YOU WILL DESERVE A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH.'

Cason says, "I haven't known Daisy very long, but I'm pretty sure she's not swearing any blood oaths to lava demons who think they're gods."

Cason says, "So you had better go back to your Weave and ask it to explain itself a little better this time."

(From DM) 'WHO ARE YOU, HALFLING, TO QUESTION ME THUS?'

Cason says, "I'm Cason Overdale. Doctor, entertainer and adventurer. At your service."

[slingergame] Cason says, "I'd like to try an Arcana check to see if I've ever heard of this guy."

Celaeno says, "Speaking of oaths, as captain of this vessel, I am authorized by the ancient law of the sea to bind two souls together in holy matrimony."

[slingergame] Cason says, "And, if so, if I know anything potentially helpful about him."

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 1 | 1 + 0 = 1

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Whoops!"

[slingergame] DM says, "Sorry, you have no idea who he is."

[Crows-Nest] Cason exclaims, "Damnit, I'm a doctor, not a wizard!"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "The King in Yellow, he'll help us"

Celaeno asks (of Cason), "Feel like getting hitched?"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Nobody knows who he is. That's why nobody worships him."

[slingergame] Donaar D

Cason says (to Celaeno), "Um, it's a sweet offer, but we hardly know each other."

Celaeno exclaims, "No, not to me! To Daisy!"

Cason asks, "Oh! Um, maybe. But... shouldn't we wait for her to wake up first?"

(From DM) 'WHAT IS THIS MADNESS! I BRING DEATH AND YOU SPEAK OF WEDDINGS? YOU FOOLS

Cason says (to Plutathros), "Hush, the grown-ups are talking here."

Cason says (to Plutathros), "...you know what? I don't even think you're a real god. *I've* certainly never heard of you."

(From DM) 'YOU ARE BEGINNING TO ANNOY ME, CASON OVERDALE! WATCH YOUR WORDS OR YOU'LL HAVE YOUR INNARDS RIPPED OUT BY SKELETONS!'

Celaeno asks, "What are these 'bloodlights' anyways?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "I'd like to annoy him into accidentally revealing something useful for us, like a weakness."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Would that be Persuasion?"

[slingergame] DM asks (of Cason), "I'm not sure?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I'd allow it"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Or deception maybe"

[slingergame] DM says, "Deception seems more appropriate."

Cason asks (of Plutathros), "If you're a 'god', then how come you're down here trying to make deals with pirates just to get your own ship? Why aren't you up in heaven or hell or whatever gods are supposed to live, ruling and granting clerical spells and stuff?"

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 15 | 15 + 6 = 21

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno asks, "What does god need with a pirate ship?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "I can work with that."

">[LINK]

(From DM) 'I HAVE NO CLERICS! I HAVE NO BELIEVERS! I NEEDED SOULS! SOULS WILLING TO SELL THEMSELVES FOR GOLD! PIRATE SOULS!'

Cason asks, "Oh? And how many souls have you got now?"

Cason says, "Remember, souls are only legally binding if they enter into an agreement willfully and aware of what they're getting into."

(From DM) 'I HAVE THOSE OF BURTON AND HIS CREW! BUT RIGHT NOW, MY MOST POWERFUL LINK TO THIS WORLD LIES IN THE HANDS OF A GNOME! FOR WE WERE THE GODS OF THE GNOMISH RACE, BEFORE THEY LEFT US FOR THE LIKES OF THAT IMPOSTER, ILMATER!'

Celaeno exclaims, "Ahoy, me fellow pirate souls! My hold is full of gold! You know it to be true. Pledge your service to me, Captain Celaeno, and it shall all be yours!"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Always wanted a zombie crew."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Yay."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Hehe"

(From DM) The zombie pirates turn their heads, and you think you see the hint of greed in those undead eyes.

Cason asks, "Yup, he's right. I've seen his hold. It's full of smugglers' treasure. How much gold does old Pluty have on him right now?"

(From DM) 'NO, SCUMBAG FOOLS! YOU MUST ABIDE BY ME, FOR I CAN MAKE YOU INTO GODS! YOU WILL BE THE GODS OF THE SEA!' Plutathros yells at the zombies.

Celaeno exclaims, "Arrr har de har har! Time to toss this pretender No-Hook Burton off our ship and set sail in search of plunder and booty!!"

(From DM) Plutathros turns to Donaar. 'I KNOW YOU. MY BROTHER SPOKE OF YOU. YOU WILL NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.'

Donaar just sighs. "Yes, I helped save your brother, Mithros. But I also hold the ability to destroy you, if you do not leave these people alone."

Donaar says, "And we will not let you have this lass, Daisy, as you call her."

(From DM) 'NORIXIUS DONAAR. YOU WILL NOT USE THAT ABYSSIUM. FOR IF YOU KILL ME, THE OTHER GODS, THE FORGOTTEN... THEY WILL HAVE NO MERCY. YOU KNOW A WAR IS COMING. A WAR WHICH WILL SET THIS ENTIRE CONTINENT ABLAZE.'

Donaar says, "Then I believe we're at an imp-- imp-- problem here."

(From DM) The zombie pirates lurch towards Celaeno. 'Goooooooooold,' they mumble.

Cason asks, "Abyssium, huh? So that can kill you?"

Celaeno says, "Oh, right; gold"

Cason asks (of Donaar), "Has it been used already to kill some other god?"

Celaeno runs belowdecks to grab up some gold.

Cason asks, "Or would this be your first go at it?"

Donaar says, "The Captain's friend tried to kill Plutathros's brother with it. I believe it would work."

(From DM) 'THE GOD-KILLER. SURELY YOU MUST KNOW! YOU, WHO HAVE BEEN HELPING LADY SARAH REDSPUR RETURN TO ITS VERY SOURCE.'

Cason asks, "Tried, huh? But failed?"

Donaar says, "We stopped him."

Cason asks (of Plutathros), "So, no gods have been killed yet. You know what that means?"

Cason says, "This 'god-killer' that your 'Weave of Fate' told you about..."

Cason says, "...hasn't actually killed a god. *Yet*."

Cason says, "But if the Weave is right, and they *are* a god-killer... then they will."

Cason says, "And *you're* the only god I see here right now."

Cason asks, "Is this *really* where you want to be at this moment?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "If my RP doesn't convince him, I can try for an Intimidation check."

(From DM) 'BUT DONAAR WILL NEVER USE THE GOD-KILLER. THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD HAVE THE NERVE TO DO SO... WOULD BE LADY SARAH REDSPUR'S DEAR, BELOVED MOTHER.'

Cason asks, "Oh, really?"

Cason looks at Donaar.

Donaar shrugs.

[Crows-Nest] DM asks, "Can our paladin bluff a god?"

Cason says, "Maybe you're right. Maybe there's no chance this paladin, this warrior for Good, would consider ending an evil deity's reign of terror once and for all, given the opportunity to do so."

Cason says, "Maybe."

Donaar says, "Maybe, I would, maybe I wouldn't. That's for me to decide."

Cason says, "Go ahead. Roll the dice. Let's see what will happen. I'd love to find out."

Cason leans forward, watching Plutathros intently with a grin on his face.

Celaeno arrives back on deck, every pocket dripping gold coins.

Celaeno exclaims, "Gold! Gold for all!"

(From DM) The zombies cheer and wave their hands, some of them losing limbs in the process.

(From DM) And Plutathros suddenly looks weaker...

Cason says, "I think you're outnumbered, Pluty. You'd better make up your mind fast."

(From DM) 'VERY WELL.'

(From DM) 'KEEP YOUR GNOME, PIRATES. BUT KNOW THIS: THE WAR HAS BEGUN. SOONER OR LATER... I'LL BE BACK.'

Cason says, "Sure, sure. Bring your brother. Your parents, too! We'll make a family night of it."

(From DM) And Plutathros dissolves into flame, rising up into the moonlit sky and dissolving into another plane of existence with what sounds like an exaperated sigh.

Donaar whew.

(From DM) The zombies, who were dancing in gold, suddenly go 'Uh-oh' and drop down dead.

Celaeno says, "NOOOooooo oh well that's probably for the best."

Cason says, "You know, back before I went to sea, I had no idea that this was what sailing would be like."

Cason asks, "Do you deal with this kind of stuff every day?"

(From DM) The deck is littered with the corpses of Red-Eye the wererat, Buzzkill and Killjoy the kobolds, two of the three Stiffs, and One-Hook himself.

Donaar waves to Celaeno. "Hello again!"

(From DM) There are voices from below decks, the sound of the other passenger awaking from their nightmares.

Cason takes the lamp hanging from the top of the mast and peers out at the cliff. Is Daisy there and safe?

(From DM) And then you hear a SQUEAK, followed by the sound of a giant white rat falling from the cliff and onto the deck.

Cason asks, "...Daisy?"

(From DM) Daisy is now a giant rat, and looks barely alive.

DM says (to Cason), "But the glowing arm curse thingy is gone"

Cason says, "Oh, Daisy. We've got to get you inside."

Cason says (to Donaar), "Mr. Paladin, can you help me out? It's Daisy; she's been transformed..."

Cason does a little jig.

Celaeno sails away from the cliff for safety.

Donaar scoops up the rat.

Donaar lays hands upon the rat, while holding it, trying to heal it back up.

(From DM) From the cliff top, you see another dragonborn soldier emerge, who calls out 'DONAAR! DO YOU REQUEST BACKUP?' through cupped hands.

Cason says, "I think she's doing better than she was before, at least. She looks like she's down to only one curse."

Celaeno asks, "You have a posse stashed away up there?"

Donaar waves back with one hand, cradling the rat with the other. "I THINK WE'RE FINE."

Donaar asks, "What's this about curses?"

Cason says, "Daisy was bitten by a wererat, but she was cursed with more than just furriness... there was this blood moon thing too."

Cason says, "Which I think is what we just saw. With all the blood. From the moon."

Cason says, "But... I *think* maybe that's run its course."

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Bloodlights = moonlight + blood"

Cason asks, "Hey, wait. Do any of those friends of yours know how to remove a curse?"

Donaar says, "I doubt it."

Celaeno says, "Turns out selling your soul isn't as good an idea as it seems"

Cason says, "Oh. Too bad."

(From DM) The trapdoor opens and Redspur crawls out groggily. 'Someone was shouting my name or something...'

Cason asks, "Well, at this point... I guess Daisy's condition seems stable?"

(From DM) The rat shows signs of life.

Cason says, "And probably the best place to look for a cleric or someone to help her is on land."

Cason says, "So maybe we should keep going to that place we were going to before."

Cason asks, "The place that was mentioned in the book? The book that might be the link between Plutes and whatever?"

Celaeno says (to Redspur), "Just a minor unannounced visitor"

Donaar waves, "Hello again, Miss Redspur."

Cason says, "I mean, heck, if the place in the book *is* connected to him, maybe they can even help us get rid of him for good, so he doesn't come back for her again."

(From DM) Redspur smile. 'Oh, hi! Didn't expect to see you again.'

Cason says, "Or at least they might have *heard* of him, which is more than I could say."

(From DM) 'Who are you all talking about?' Redspur asks. 'Why was he talking about my mother?'

Donaar says, "Plutharos, the brother of Mithros."

(From DM) 'Oh, crap.'

Cason asks, "You *have* heard of him?"

Donaar says, "He claimed your mother would be the one to kill him..."

(From DM) 'Well, I have to first start by explaining who I am.'

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "In a huge twist ending, it'll turn out that somehow Celaeno was Redspur's real mother all along."

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "got a nest in every port"

Celaeno says, "Arrr someone best be swabbin these decks"

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "It all dates back to when her father Adel was seduced by a giant chicken, and then Redspur's brother was abducted and started a ten year war, and..."

(From DM) 'I'm the daughter of the High Lady of the Red Tribe, and we have been guarding mines in which the only know source of abyssium lies. It's kind of a big deal, my mother used it to kill Mithros's father at some point... messy story.'

Cason asks (of Celaeno), "Who usually does that kind of thing around here?"

Donaar brings Daisy!Rat inside and lays her on a bed then starts shoving bodies off the deck into the ocean.

Cason gives Daisy a veterinarian checkup while listening to Redspur's story. "Do, go on."

(From DM) 'Anyway, I'm sorry, I hid this from all of you.'

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 1 | 1 + 1 = 2

Cason sighs. "Dammit, I'm a doctor, not a veterinarian. There's nothing I can do here until Daisy is human again."

[Setting the zoned flag.]

Celaeno says, "This full moon will hold all night, I'd say"

(From DM) Redspur bites her lip. 'I didn't tell you guys everything because I was worried you might think I was making it up. Also, if you'd known that I was of royal blood, you might have tried to use me as a bargaining chip, just like Grasstongue did.'

Cason asks, "Bargaining chip for what? And who's Grasstongue?"

(From DM) 'A halfling who kidnapped me when I snuck out with a friend to explore the coast, outside of city limits.'

(From DM) 'He and his gang had gotten information about Crimson City from some smuggler named Raw.'

Cason asks (of Celaeno), "Are you taking notes?"

Celaeno says, "I thought you were taking notes"

(From DM) 'Anyway to tell a long story short, he tricked my mother into giving him some abyssium, and then didn't hand me back to her, preferring to freeze me in a block of ice for gods know how long. Then Donaar and his friends rescued me. That's it.'

(From DM) 'Also, that's his boat we're on.'

Donaar says, "Oh."

Cason says, "Wow, Donaar's friends must have been some pretty nice people."

Donaar says, "Some of them."

(From DM) Merey and Roscoe peep out from belowdecks. 'Oh, wow, hi Donaar! Did you manage to get back to your army in the end?'

Donaar says, "Hello! I joined a new regiment, and now I'm on a mission."

(From DM) Roscoe whistles. 'Nice. By the way, would your regiment be recruiting? We sort of lost our inn, Merey and me.'

Celaeno says, "Also I think the entire town was destroyed."

Donaar says, "Perhaps. Do you have any military experience? Oh. Oh, wow. That's terrible."

Donaar says, "Long story short, this Raw guy who abducted Miss Redspur was captured and blabbed about a hidden kingdom on the west coast, and now I'm headed there."

Celaeno says, "A hidden kingdom, you say."

Donaar says, "I need to bring them this abyssium and secure an alliance in the war."

Cason asks, "Is that the same kingdom that Redspur is from?"

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "I think I'm understanding this properly, DM?"

[slingergame] DM says, "You got it."

[slingergame] DM thumbs ups.

Celaeno says, "If the trade winds hold, we'll be there before you know it"

Cason asks, "If Plutes is still out there, then should we hang onto at least a little bit of this poison? You know, to use on him if he comes back?"

Donaar says, "Just opening the bottle could be dangerous, I believe."

(From DM) Redspur laughs. 'You have no idea. We've got so much abyssium, we even have weapons made from it.'

(From DM) 'Yes, yes, pirates burned down Direfrost,' Peren the former officer of the Guard confirms, somewhat belatedly. 'And Roscoe here was a soldier before his regiment got all massacred and then he got imprisoned and then escaped from the drow and killed the guy who killed his regiment. It's an epic story -- ' 'Enough, Peren, they get it.'

Cason asks (of Redspur), "Well then, what are we waiting for?"

Cason exclaims, "Let's go there!"

(From DM) 'Woohoo!'

(From DM) 'So,' Roscoe asks of Donaar, 'May I and my friends disembark here and join your regiment, while you continue your mission solo as it were?'

Donaar says, "Sure thing. Just tell them I sent you."

Celaeno hauls in to allow for some disembarkation.

(From DM) 'Thank you so much Donaar,' Merey smiles. She picks up the shortsword on the floor. 'Hey, isn't that Lightbringer?'

(From DM) It literally flies into Roscoe's hand, and he twirls it. 'You found it! May I take it without offending anyone?'

(From DM) Redspur says, 'I think Daisy found it. But we can't really ask her... not as she is.'

Cason says, "She was using it when she lost her crossbow. But I think she liked the bow better anyway."

(From DM) 'Well, then that's settled!'

[slingergame] Cason asks, "She's got the crossbow back, right?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Fished it out of the wreckage, yeah"

Celaeno says, "May it serve you well in your adventures yet to come"

(From DM) Roscoe and Merey smile in unison. 'Sail safely, dashing pirates.'

[slingergame] Cason says, "(AFK for a minute.)"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "alright off we go then"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "oh ok"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "me too then"

(From DM) So Roscoe and Merey and Peren and Swift Mudstinger clamber up the crows'nest, and they join Sergeant Smouldaar's regiment. Only Thilda Brinestone, former elven Commissioner of the ill-fated Direfrost Guard, stays behind. 'Captain, you saved me from the pirates. I owe you a debt, and shall not rest before it is repayed.'

Celaeno says, "Fine by me"

(From DM) Bardolph staggers onto the deck, looks around. 'I think I must have missed a lot of stuff, Cap.'

(From DM) 'Is it me or is this ship lighter?'

Celaeno says, "Aye; she carries far fewer secrets now."

(From DM) Redspur laughs.

[slingergame] Cason says, "(Back.)"

[slingergame] DM says, "So now the crew is you three plus Redspur, Bardolph and the hair-challenged female elf."

Donaar waves pleasantly at Thilda.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Are we sailing to the secret fox kingdom with the godpoison in it yet?"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Dumb, but friendly."

(From DM) Thilda recognizes Donaar. 'Ah, yes, I remember you.'

(From DM) 'Ahem.'

Cason says, "Oh, I guess *everyone* around here already knows each other."

Cason asks, "Is that what things are like at sea?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I think so, Cason"

(From DM) Bardolph glances at the water filled with corpses. 'Those are the pirates you fought --- oh, where's the guy with the big ears?'

(From DM) Redspur says, 'You mean that silly tall guy? I'm pretty sure he drowned.'

(From DM) Bardolph coughs, and says nothing.

(From DM) So, y'all set sail in the light of the rising sun, along the glorious Western Coast!

(From DM) 'We're barely a day away,' Redspur says. 'I can't wait.'

Cason asks (of Celaeno), "Anything we can do to help?"

">[LINK]

[slingergame] DM asks, "Anything you guys would like to do? Check the skies? Look out for stuff? Play puppets?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Feel free."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I'm good"

Donaar plays solitaire.

(From DM) The wind starts to become more boisterous, forcing Donaar to play cards belowdecks.

(From DM) The rat that once was Daisy is fidgeting and chewing on salted pork nervously.

(From DM) And Bardolph, way up in the crows' nest, starts to look anxious.

[slingergame] Cason says, "If there's anything obvious I can do to help Daisy, I'll do it, but I assume there isn't."

[slingergame] DM says (to Celaeno), "I assume you're at the helm."

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "Nothing you can do, unless you fancy trying to cheer up a rather gloomy rat."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Yeah although I should probably get some sleep in at some point"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Rats enjoy puppet shows."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Sure, I'll give her a puppet show. Why not."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Performance:"

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 14 | 14 + 8 = 22

[slingergame] DM says, "You can describe the show if you like."

[slingergame] DM says, "I can already say she's entertained."

Cason portrays a re-enactment of the group's initial victory against the pirates, including puppets representing Daisy, Celaeno and Cason.

(From DM) The rat squeaks and shows signs of having a gnomish sense of humor! She particularly enjoys the bits involving the Three Stiffs making a fool of themselves.

DM says (to Celaeno), "'Cap!' Bardolph calls down from the crows' nest. 'Want to take a nap while I steer her for a bit?'"

Celaeno says, "Ayeee come on down; it's easy sailing"

(From DM) Thilda Brinestone says, 'I shall take his place up there, just to be on the safe side. My hair is tingling.'

Celaeno snoozes away in uneasy dreams.

(From DM) And the elf climbs nimbly up into the crows'nest, as Bardolph eaglifies and glides down to the helm.

(From DM) The skies grow dark and stormy.

[slingergame] DM says, "You get a long rest, btw"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "woo"

(From DM) Redspur adventures onto deck, and then goes back down to see Donaar and Cason. 'It's getting bad out there.'

(From DM) And then you hear thunder rumble.

Cason asks, "Is it blooding out again?"

(From DM) Redspur glances out through a porthole. 'No, no blood -- oh!'

(From DM) 'I saw something out there!'

Donaar asks, "What did you see?"

(From DM) 'Some sort of lizard! It stuck its head out of a wave for a second!'

[slingergame] DM says, "Sorry for the disconnect."

[slingergame] DM says, "My internet wire was pulled out"

Donaar peers out a porthole.

Cason says, "I don't think we really have time to pet the lizards right now."

DM says (to Donaar), "You see a glimpse of a long, reptilian neck emerge briefly from a wave further on, and for a split second it's lit up by a lightning bolt, revealing that someone -- someone? -- is riding it. Then the porthole is obscured by murked water from another wave striking the side of the ship."

Donaar says, "I saw it, too! There was something riding it!"

Cason asks, "Oh! I guess we should offer to let them come aboard, then?"

(From DM) And then from above you hear Bardolph yell something! But it's drowned out by the most tremendous blast of thunder you've ever heard!

Cason says, "It must be pretty wet out there, after all."

DM exclaims, "Everybody roll a CON(13) Save!"

[slingergame] DM says, "the thunder is REAL loud"

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 17 | 17 + 3 = 20

[slingergame] DM says, "your eardrums survive, Donaar"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 3 | 3 + 0 = 3

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "that'll wake you up"

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 20 | 20 + 2 = 22

DM exclaims (at Celaeno), "You are deafened by the thunderclap! 2d6 thunderous damage!"

Celaeno rolls 2 6-sided dice: 6 5 | 11

[slingergame] DM says, "ow"

Cason asks, "... .... ...... .......?"

DM exclaims (at Cason), "you're all right!"

[slingergame] DM says, "but nice joke"

Cason asks (of Celaeno), "I SAID, WAS THAT NORMAL THUNDER? Or was it magical?"

(From DM) Poor Redspur, taken by surprise, tries to cover her ears, but turns into a fox and passes out!

Donaar scoops up the fox and puts her also in a bed.

[slingergame] DM says, "Hammocj"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "SOmething something zoo."

Celaeno shrugs.

(From DM) 'CAP!'

(From DM) 'HE'S BAAAACK!'

Cason says, "I think we'd better get out there and see what's going on."

Cason says (to Daisy), "You stay here."

Cason goes up on deck.

Donaar follows.

Celaeno takes the helm.

(From DM) Daisy squeaks and hides in a corner.

(From DM) Bardolph is clutching his arm, which is bleeding. 'Plesiosaurs!' he gasps.

Cason asks (of Bardolph), "What happened?"

(From DM) From each side of the ship, rising out of the storm with foghorn-like wails, two plesiosaurs rear their ugly heads!

(From DM) 'Look, you fools! Look!'

(From DM) Atop one of the two sea monster's reptilian neck, riding it like a bizarre knight, is a pirate you thought you'd seen the last of...

(From DM) ... a crazed, blind human with elephantine ears, two eyepatches and a longsword in his hand:Tall Stiff! Thunder roars, and his silhouette is lit up by lightning as he leaps off the plesiosaur and and glides down onto the deck of the Icebird! The storm-tossed air immediately fills with a ghastly aroma.

Donaar pulls out his morningstar.

Cason asks, "Another zombie?"

(From DM) 'I AM BLIND BUT THE GODS HAVE SHOWN ME THE WAY TO REVENGE!'

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "I've just about had it with these motherfucking zombies on my motherfucking ship"

Cason asks, "Captain, you still got those coins in your pockets?"

DM exclaims (at Cason), "He's no zombie, he's alive!"

DM exclaims, "Somehow he was the only pirate to survive!"

Cason says (to Pirate), "Alright. Do you really intend to fight us? Because if so: bring it on."

(From DM) The two plesiosaurs moans their deathly moan, and the last of the Stiffs waves his scimitar madly.

DM exclaims, "Roll it, landlubbers!"

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 9 | 9 + 4 = 13

Cason clears the initiative.

Cason registers Cason at init 13.

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 13 | 13 + 2 = 15

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 18 | 18 + 5 = 23

Donaar registers Donaar at init 15.

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Unless I've got disadv from deaf or something of the sort"

DM registers Plesiosaurs at init 11.

[slingergame] DM says, "You have disadv"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 19 | 19 + 5 = 24

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Ha"

[slingergame] DM says, "bah humbug"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Apparently I'm used to being deaf"

Celaeno registers Celaeno at init 23.

DM registers Stiff at init 9.

DM displays the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

DM advances the initiative: CELAENO(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

[slingergame] DM says, "So I describe this as follows"

[slingergame] Cason checks to verify that, fortunately, Bardic Inspiration is not impaired by deafness. Yay, magic.

[slingergame] DM says, "There is a plesiosaur on each side of the ship. There are lightning bolts flying about like crazy. Because of the wind, the weather imposes a -2 penalty on rangedattack rollsand onListenchecks."

[slingergame] DM says, "And the pirate is in the middle of the ship, blind and flailing like a lunatic."

[slingergame] DM asks, "Is it clear?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Sure"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Blind but not, I assume, deaf."

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "correct"

Celaeno leaps from the helm at tall-dark-and-ugly, drawing her rapier in flight and slashing down at him.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Since he's blind, our attacks get advantage against him, right?"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 1 | 1 + 6 = 7

[slingergame] DM says, "Yep."

Celaeno says, "IT IS SLIPPERY OUT HERE"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims (at Celaeno), "You have advantage!"

[slingergame] DM asks, "But that kind of balances out Celaeno's disadv?"

[slingergame] DM asks, "Or not?"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Oh, Deafness gives disadvantage on attacks?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Didn't realize."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "The deaf and the blind are punching it out in a battle royale"

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "Actually, I'm not sure. But if Celaeno is okay with it, then sure."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I'm kind of fine. I mean, being deaf, I'm probably making so much noise that he's able to lock in on me"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "All it says is:| A deafened creature cant hear and automatically fails any ability check that requires hearing."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Whereas it specifies about attack rolls for blinded."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "So is it still Celaeno's turn? Is she re-rolling for Advantage, taking a move action, or...?"

[slingergame] DM says (to Celaeno), "Hmhm. I say Celaeno gets advantage."

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Woot!"

[slingergame] DM says, "Roll it, captain"

[slingergame] DM says, "(because deaf beats blind)"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "ok"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 8 | 8 + 6 = 14

DM exclaims, "That hits!"

[slingergame] Cason says, "It's like the three monkeys version of rock paper scissors."

[slingergame] DM says, "heheh"

Celaeno says, "WHY DOES NOTHING LOST TO THE SEA STAY LOST"

Celaeno rolls 1 8-sided die: 4 | 4 + 4 = 8

Celaeno rolls 2 6-sided dice: 5 3 | 8

Celaeno says, "16 points of slasheration"

(From DM) The blind, big eared idiot loses an arm! He still has his scimitar arm, though, but now he's screaming like a stuck pig.

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) DONAAR(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

Donaar steps in and whacks Tall Stiff with his morningstar.

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 6 | 6 + 4 = 10

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 12 | 12 + 4 = 16

Donaar rolls 1 8-sided die: 4 | 4 + 4 = 8

Donaar has no idea who this guy is, but he seems to be bad, so...

(From DM) The morningstar sends the pirate flailing backwards against the helm! In his attempt to stay upright, he accidentally steers the ship to the left, towards one of the plesiosaurs!

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) CASON(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

Cason first gives Celaeno Bardic Inspiration! Then...

(From Cason) Kraddok whispers a discordant melody that only the pirate can hear.

[slingergame] Celaeno asks, "What's the deal with bardic inspiration again?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Casting Dissonant Whispers. He needs to make a WIS save, DC 14."

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 19 | 19

[slingergame] Cason says (to Celaeno), "In the next 10 minutes, you can add a d6 to any d20 roll you make, even after rolling, provided you do it before the final result is announced."

[slingergame] Cason says, "(I mean, before the DM says if it hit or not, etc.)"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Darn. OK, he takes half damage from:"

Cason rolls 3 6-sided dice: 4 1 2 | 7

[slingergame] DM says, "So 4 damage."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "great thanks"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Yup."

[slingergame] Cason says, "(Man, is it just me, or have these guys made pretty much every save against one of my spells?)"

Cason advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) PLESIOSAURS(11) Stiff(9)

(From DM) Stiff's ears flaps about madly as he yells: 'Mom! Stop yelling!'

(From DM) Okay, the ship strikes the plesiosaur on the left.

DM says, "Who then bites into the ship, making two long gashes in the metal hull! You hear the sound of water rushing in."

DM says, "Then the plesiosaur on the right tries to bite Celaeno, clearly hungry for some nice bird meat."

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 19 | 19 + 6 = 25

Celaeno says, "Oh"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "I imagine that these gashes are rather more than a foot long?"

DM rolls 3 6-sided dice: 3 3 4 | 10 + 4 = 14

[slingergame] DM says, "These are actually fang marks, so exactly a foot long."

Celaeno decides to take a little nap on the deck for a moment or two.

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Perfect!"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "yeah I'm down"

">[LINK]

[slingergame] Cason says, "I mean, the part about the fang marks, not the part about Celaeno being down."

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) STIFF(9)

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Sure, sure"

(From DM) The last of the Stiff, now one-armed, runs blindly across the storm-tossed deck, yelling 'Deadhot Doozy! I have you now! Prepare to die!'

(From DM) And he tries to stab Donaar.

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 12 | 12 + 5 = 17

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 15 | 15 + 5 = 20

[slingergame] Donaar says, "17 does not hit"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Woot."

(From DM) And misses by a hair, getting entangled in the rigging instead.

DM advances the initiative: END OF ROUND

DM advances the initiative: CELAENO(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "DEATH SAVE!"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 18 | 18

[slingergame] DM says, "That's a success."

(From DM) Celaeno fights bravely for her life.

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) DONAAR(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11) Stiff(9)

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "yes; I'm trying to remember what happens if I can total over 20"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I can't recall if I need a natural 20 to get back up, or just get to 20"

[slingergame] Cason says, "I think a crit counts as two successes."

[slingergame] DM says, "Yep. And now it's Donaar's turn."

Donaar whacks at Stiff again, hoping to take him down.

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 5 | 5 + 4 = 9

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 11 | 11 + 4 = 15

Donaar rolls 1 8-sided die: 4 | 4 + 4 = 8

[slingergame] Cason says, "A total of three successes before you get three failures means you stabilize and are merely unconscious at zero HP, but no longer dying."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Three failures before you get three successes means you... um. Have not succeeded in evading death."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Looks good to me"

(From DM) The Stiff's skull cracks under Donaar's mighty morningstar. And the last of those abysmal fools falls into the abyss.

DM removes Stiff from the initiative list.

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) CASON(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

Cason casts Cure Wounds on Celaeno, using a second level spell slot.

Cason rolls 2 8-sided dice: 8 3 | 11 + 4 = 15

[slingergame] DM asks, "Does that mean Celaeno's alive again?"

Cason also throws Donaar a Bardic Inspiration!

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Yup, and he has 15 HP!"

Cason advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) PLESIOSAURS(11)

[slingergame] DM says, "Cheers."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "huzzah"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Er, sorry, she."

[slingergame] Cason says, "The spell does not actually alter your gender."

(From DM) The plesiosaurs attack simultaneously from both sides of the ship! Lightning flashes across the dark sky.

[slingergame] DM says, "heeh"

(From DM) One goes for Donaar:

Donaar says (to plesiosaurs), "Stop that! He's dead."

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 12 | 12 + 6 = 18

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "My AC is 18. Does that hit or no?"

DM rolls 3 6-sided dice: 2 6 3 | 11 + 4 = 15

[slingergame] Cason says, "Yeah, alas."

Donaar ouch.

(From DM) The other plesiosaur tries to bite our beloved halfling bard!

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 17 | 17 + 6 = 23

DM rolls 3 6-sided dice: 1 6 3 | 10 + 4 = 14

(From DM) It bites Cason severely!

DM advances the initiative: END OF ROUND

DM advances the initiative: CELAENO(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

[slingergame] Cason says, "Oof."

Celaeno gets up, stands up.

Celaeno takes the helm and tries to steer toward shallow waters.

DM exclaims (at Celaeno), "You realize the ship is stuck between these two plesiosaurs!"

Celaeno says, "Well they'll just get run over then won't they."

DM says (to Celaeno), "Roll Navigation."

[slingergame] DM says, "Ahem."

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 11 | 11

Celaeno pulls with all her might.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Would Inspiration help?"

[slingergame] DM says, "She has it."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Oh, the thing"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "yeah I'll do that"

Celaeno rolls 1 6-sided die: 2 | 2

Celaeno pulls even harder yet.

[slingergame] DM raises an eyebrow.

[slingergame] DM asks, "Inspiration means a d20, no?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Oh, I was thinking of Bardic Inspiration."

[slingergame] DM exclaims, "Oh right!"

DM says (to Celaeno), "So that's a 17 in all."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "The puppets gave me extra oomph."

DM exclaims, "Sadly, even though you try your best, you succeed only in pushing one plesiosaur under the waves. The other one is still hellbent on attacking the crew!"

DM says, "And you hear creaking sounds, as well as the water going through those fang marks in the hull."

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) DONAAR(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

Donaar whacks the remaining plesiosaur. "No! Bad!"

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 6 | 6 + 4 = 10

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Wait"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "This is why we can't have nice things."

Donaar rolls 1 6-sided die: 3 | 3

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "Does a 13 hit?"

(From DM) The plesiosaur is unaffected by your attempt to bop it on the nose with a rolled up morningstar.

[slingergame] DM says, "nope"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "oh"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Has this 'saur been injured at all yet?"

[slingergame] DM says, "oh wait it does"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Yiss"

Donaar rolls 1 8-sided die: 6 | 6 + 4 = 10

(From DM) But in spite of the dinosaur's nonchalance, you see blood flow from its nostrils!

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "the saur has not been injured because you were all busy with Stiff."

[slingergame] DM says, "On the bright side, you only have one plesiosaur to worry about now, thanks to Celaeno's sailing skills."

[slingergame] Cason says, "But it has now! :)"

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "point taken"

[slingergame] Cason says, "(Init next?)"

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) CASON(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

(From Cason) Zugilee sings a lullabye to the monster.

Cason rolls 7 8-sided dice: 3 5 1 2 4 5 2 | 22

[slingergame] Cason says, "If it has 22 or fewer HP left, it falls asleep."

DM says, "The plesiosaur stares at your puppet, squints, snorts, but does not fall asleep."

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) PLESIOSAURS(11)

Cason gives Celaeno another Bardic Inspiration with his bonus action.

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "oh thanks"

(From DM) The plesiosaur tries to bite Cason's puppet out of his hand! Apparently it has a vague idea the puppet is responsible somehow.

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 12 | 12 + 6 = 18

DM rolls 3 6-sided dice: 4 4 6 | 14 + 4 = 18

[slingergame] Cason says, "...and I'm down now."

(From DM) Cason screams as he loses a hand!

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "And a puppet, but that's another matter."

DM advances the initiative: END OF ROUND

DM advances the initiative: CELAENO(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "noo not our doctor"

Celaeno exclaims, "NOOooo not our doctor!"

Celaeno retaliates with rapier.

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 17 | 17 + 6 = 23

Celaeno rolls 1 8-sided die: 8 | 8

Celaeno rolls 2 6-sided dice: 1 4 | 5

Celaeno says, "17 points"

(From DM) The plesiosaur gets the point of your rapier in one eye! It makes a mournful, angry foghorn sound.

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) DONAAR(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "This is exciting."

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "Heal Cason or whack the dino?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I'd go with heal"

[slingergame] Cason says, "I'd *like* to be alive, personally."

[slingergame] Cason says, "But whatever you think is wisest."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "I figured I could wait until you did your first roll, but yeah, ok."

Donaar casts cure wounds on Cason.

Donaar rolls 1 8-sided die: 3 | 3 + 7 = 10

Donaar moves away from the creature

Cason blinks. "Ow."

DM advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) CASON(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "You now have one hand."

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Use it wisely."

Cason casts Dissonant Whispers at the last dino!

[slingergame] Cason says, "WIS save vs. 14."

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 2 | 2 + 1 = 3

[slingergame] Cason says, "Woot! First, it takes psychic damage, and hopefully coughs up my hand in he process:"

Cason rolls 3 6-sided dice: 5 6 4 | 15

[slingergame] Cason says, "Second, it uses its reaction to move as far away from me as its Move score allows."

(From DM) The plesiosaur moans and gnashes its fangs!

Cason finally gives Donaar his last Bardic Inspiration for the day.

Cason advances the initiative: Celaeno(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) PLESIOSAURS(11)

(From DM) It raises its prehistoric head to the skies, and spits out something which lands on the crows' nest.

(From DM) 'MY HAAAAAIR!' Thilda screams.

(From DM) The plesiosaur moves its head away from Cason and towards the Captain at the helm.

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Does it get an attack? Since that was a reaction."

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "Yeah, but it's now its full Move away from us."

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "And any of us who were close enough to attack it can get an AoO against it."

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "(Because it's running away.)"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "20ft away from you now."

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "It must be right behind the ship now."

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "(Was any of us close enough to attack it as it fled?)"

[Crows-Nest] Donaar says, "I'd deliberately moved away from it, so no."

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "Maybe me"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Okay, Celaeno gets a chance to attack it as it's moving its neck away."

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Roll roll roll"

DM advances the initiative: END OF ROUND

DM advances the initiative: CELAENO(23) Donaar(15) Cason(13) Plesiosaurs(11)

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 13 | 13 + 6 = 19

Celaeno rolls 1 8-sided die: 5 | 5 + 4 = 9

[Crows-Nest] Cason asks, "Are you skipping the Plesisaurs' turn?"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Are you skipping the Plesisaurs' turn?"

Celaeno says, "9 points, poke poke"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Nope. They did their move action. Celaeno gets an AoO"

[slingergame] Cason nods.

[slingergame] Cason says (to Celaeno), "You still get your regular attack too on your turn, of course."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Yeah but instead"

[slingergame] DM asks, "Quick question: is this fight long enough?"

Celaeno gets back on the helm and starts taking evasive maneouvers

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Yeah any fight where a couple PCs drop is long enough"

[slingergame] Cason says (to DM), "Yup."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "If the dinosaur wants to run away, I'm fine with that"

(From DM) The plesiosaur is stabbed in the other eye, and with a foghorn sound it sinks into the storm, never to return! Its friend, saddened and afraid, disappears also, swearing nver to let pirates ride it ever again.

DM exclaims, "You have overcome!"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Woo!"

Cason asks (of Donaar), "Up in the crow's nest! Is that my hand?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "(I'm assuming that I'm in no condition to climb the ladder myself at the moment.)"

Donaar shrugs, "Maybe?" He shouts up to Thilda, "Can you toss that down here?"

(From DM) Thilda pulls it out of her singed hair and tosses the grisly member down.

Celaeno slowly gets her hearing back.

Donaar catches it.

(From DM) 'I GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING AND I GOT SOMEONE HAND IN MY HAIR!'

Cason holds it up to his wrist and cast Cure Wounds on himself. It's still fresh... it *should* work. He knows. He's a doctor, after all.

Cason rolls 1 8-sided die: 4 | 4 + 4 = 8

DM says (to Cason), "Alas, the lost hand refuses to rejoin its arm."

DM says, "wait"

[slingergame] DM says, "sorry, I messed up"

[slingergame] DM says, "give me a sex"

[slingergame] DM says, "sec"

[slingergame] Donaar blushes.

[slingergame] Cason says, "I... think that would be overstepping your bounds a bit as DM."

[slingergame] DM says, "harr"

[slingergame] DM says, "Damn French keyboard, putting the X next to the X"

[slingergame] DM says, "Damn French keyboard, putting the X next to the C"

[slingergame] Cason says, "That's what you get when you buy an XXX keyboard."

Celaeno says, "Sorry to interrupt, but I'll need everyone's help repairing the ship"

DM says (to Cason), "You manage to stem the bleeding, and crudely affix your hand to your arm. It feels very numb, though."

Cason . o O ( Time. It just needs time... I hope. )

Donaar says (to Caleano), ""Of course.""

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "You'll be fine, One-Hook Cason."

Celaeno surveys the damage.

Cason, still in a bit of a daze, looks at the damage to the ship. He casts Mending on any breaks that are small enough for it to work on.

DM says (to Cason), "The fang marks seal themselves on the ship hull."

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "I need two hands! Otherwise I can't cast spells with somatic components while holding a weapon!"

(From DM) Bardolph looks belowdecks, and pulls out a soaking wet rat and a soaking wet fox. 'Cap, we have two feet of water down there.'

(From DM) And the storms rages on.

Celaeno says, "Not ideal, but she should hold together."

Celaeno says, "We'll need to get into port soon though."

Donaar finds a bucket and starts scooping out water.

(From DM) 'We went off course, Cap! I don't think we're near shore now!'

Celaeno says, "Too hard to say with this storm raging."

Celaeno says, "We'll just have to ride it out."

(From DM) 'If you want, Cap, I can fly up a bit, see if there's land nearby!'

Celaeno says, "If you want to brave the storm, I'd appreciate it,"

Celaeno says, "but don't feel like you need to."

(From DM) 'Cap, this isn't an ordinary storm. We won't be able to weather it for long unless we find --'

(From DM) And then Donaar, just as he's pouring out water over the side in a metal bucket, wearing metal armour, gets suddenly struck by lightning!

[slingergame] DM exclaims, "CON save!"

[slingergame] DM says, "Wait, DEX(13)"

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 10 | 10 + 2 = 12

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Roll ALL the saves! One of them has to succeed!"

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "Has it been 10 minutes?"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "I don't think so!"

Donaar rolls 1 6-sided die: 3 | 3

DM says (to Donaar), "Alright, you manage to avoid the full brunt of the bolt, but still get half damage (d12)"

Donaar rolls 1 12-sided die: 7 | 7

[slingergame] Cason asks, "So, 4?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Yep."

Cason says, "We need to get down below. It's not safe up here."

[slingergame] Cason says, "I propose that those of us who can go belowdecks and take a Short Rest while we wait out the storm."

DM says, "Thilda says, 'I'll man the ship, Captain. I owe you a debt.'"

Celaeno says, "Good enough for me."

DM says, "And she wipes away Cason's blood from her hair."

Hunter goes home.

Hunter arrives at home.

Celaeno goes below.

Hunter disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again.

(From DM) You take the fox and the rat with you?

Donaar follows, taking whatever animals still need to go below.

Cason tries to put on a brave face, and does a half-hearted puppet show while they rest. It's not the best show he's done, but he does feel a little better afterward, and anyone expending a hit die to heal gets an extra 1d6 of healing from it.

[slingergame] Cason says, "Daisy was already belowdecks, wasn't she? We told her to stay there when we came up."

Donaar rolls 1 10-sided die: 4 | 4

Donaar rolls 1 6-sided die: 1 | 1

[slingergame] Cason says, "(I didn't see Redspur follow us either.)"

[slingergame] DM says, "Bardolph dragged her and Redspur out of the water because they were unconscious during the leak."

Cason rolls 1 8-sided die: 5 | 5 + 2 = 7

[slingergame] Donaar says, "They were dragged up by whathis-- yeah"

Hunter arrives at home.

Cason rolls 1 6-sided die: 1 | 1

Cason rolls 1 8-sided die: 5 | 5 + 2 = 7

Celaeno rolls 1 8-sided die: 6 | 6

Celaeno rolls 1 6-sided die: 3 | 3

[slingergame] DM says, "Sorry, I'm confused by all this healing."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Oh, OK."

[slingergame] Cason says, "Then yeah, we definitely bring them with us."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "we're just chillin"

Donaar rolls 1 10-sided die: 2 | 2

[slingergame] Cason says, "I am now back to full health."

[slingergame] DM says, "Yay."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "How's my hand doing?"

Donaar lays hands upon himself (shush) to bring himself back to full health.

[slingergame] DM says (to Cason), "Your hand is stiff, and it's held together with spit and glue, but you can move your fingers a bit."

Cason says, "I hope Redspur's people have a good cleric."

Cason says, "After Daisy recovers, I could use some help myself."

(From DM) You hear from abovedecks Bardolph cursing and shouting at Thilda. Thilda says nasty things in Elvish. Then the thunder covers their voices for a bit.

(From DM) And then there is a humongous, phenomenal THUNK!

Donaar uh oh?

(From DM) Everybody is knocked head over heels by the force of the impact of the Icebird with *something* which may or may not be land!

Donaar oof!

(From DM) 'YOU MORONIC ELF -- ' 'LAND AHOY!' 'OH IN THE NAME OF --'

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "Land, ho"

(From DM) A giant eagle peeps through the trapdoor, and goes 'Awwwk.'

(From DM) Redspur comes to her senses, and turns back into a human being while sitting atop Cason's head. 'Oh, Bardolph, what is it again?'

Donaar averts his eyes.

(From DM) Bardolph de-eaglefies. 'Everybody come and see this. We've crashed into a bloody island.'

Celaeno heads on up.

(From DM) 'That damn elf can't sail for tuppence.'

Donaar follows.

Cason asks (of Redspur), "Should we go, or...?"

Donaar hopes it isn't actually bloody, all things considered.

(From DM) Redspur says, 'Let's check it out, Cason.'

Cason says, "Alright."

Cason tosses her a blanket and heads up.

(From DM) So you all get on deck. The wind is still blowing rather nastily, but it's not too dark to see. And what you see is that the Icebird has somehow found its way onto a beach. Thilda Brinestone has been ejected from her place at the helm and is lying on the sand, cursing the dark skies in Elvish as she nurses a concussion.

Cason exclaims, "Oh, good. We made it!"

(From DM) The beach is on an island, a tropic island. There are traces of trees having been cut down, and an axe lies on the sand, rusty and forlorn.

Celaeno exclaims, "AHOY!?!"

Cason asks (of Redspur), "This is your home?"

(From DM) Redspur is crestfallen. 'No.'

Donaar says, "I.. I know this place. That's my axe."

Donaar says, "Well, it's not mine, but I used it."

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno asks, "YOU'RE the One-Axe Donaar?!?"

[Crows-Nest] Donaar says, "Haha"

Donaar looks around nervously.

Cason asks, "Oh?"

Cason asks, "Where are we, then?"

(From DM) Redspur looks at Donaar, and sees the nervousness in his eyes. 'You're hiding something? You know this island?'

Donaar says, "I was dispatched to this island colony, fearing mutiny. But everyone was dead when we arrived. And now my entire team is dead, too. I was the only survivor. I still have nightmares."

(From DM) Redspur is horrified.

Donaar says, "I used that axe to make the raft that Celaeno found me on."

Cason says, "Sounds like this is probably not the best place to stay."

Donaar nods.

Cason says, "As soon as the weather seems hospitable, we should set out again for our proper destination."

Donaar says, "There was this, this invisible creature. I killed it before it killed me, but there might be more."

(From DM) Bardolph glances around. 'There's something familiar about this place. It almost feels like... home?'

Cason says, "That settles it. We stay *in* the ship."

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "awww man we crashed into Predator island"

Cason says, "We can seal the hatches to keep anything out."

(From DM) 'Cap. I want permission to explore this island,' Bardolph says.

(From DM) 'Cap? I think this might be where I came from. The Eyrie. Maybe my people are still somehow in that jungle.'

Celaeno says, "You don't need my permission; knock yourself out."

Celaeno says, "My authority ends when your feet hit the sand."

(From DM) 'Thanks, Cap. I'll be back, I swear.'

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "And he was never seen again"

(From DM) And he goes forth into the jungle.

Cason shrugs and goes back into the ship to keep an eye on Daisy.

DM asks, "Okay, guys, night is falling fast, and it's still stormy. What do you do?"

(From DM) Redspur says, 'I'd kill for a snack.'

Celaeno says, "If there's monsters about, particularly invisible monsters, I'd suggest we all stay belowdecks tonight. I'll tie the ship off to a tree or two so we don't float away."

Celaeno says, "Such is my plan, in any case."

Donaar says, "I agree."

(From DM) 'Sounds safe to me,' Redspur concurs.

Cason is already belowdecks at this point.

(From DM) Okay, so night falls, and you're all safely inside, except for Bardolph who still hasn't returned.

(From DM) Salted pork is on the menu.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Long rest?"

(From DM) 'I think I've repayed my debt enough, Captain,' Thilda says, frowning at the pork she's forced to chew on with distaste.

[slingergame] DM says, "Yeah"

Celaeno says, "Consider yourself released, but stay on if you'd like a job."

(From DM) 'I think I'll try my chances on dry land, rather. But I do thank you for your consideration.'

(From DM) The giant white rat snuggles up with the tiny squirrel, Captain Blacktail.

(From DM) So the night passes by without much more incident, other than the scratching of claws against the portholes of the ship.

(From DM) And it's morning, but Bardolph still hasn't come back.

Cason asks, "Anyone get eaten by an invisible monster last night?"

Donaar says, "Not me."

(From DM) 'Well, I *dreamt* of being eaten by an invisible monster. Does that count?' Redspur asks.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Celaeno?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I am ok"

[slingergame] DM says, "phew"

Celaeno says, "Hmmm no sign of our flying friend though."

Cason says, "I assume that elf woman isn't coming back."

Celaeno opens up the hatches and has a look about.

Cason says, "How long do we wait for Bardolph? If he's decided this is his home, he might not be coming back."

Donaar says, "He said he'd come back."

(From DM) 'The "elf woman" is still here, thank you very much, Mr Overdale' THhilda huffs.

[slingergame] Cason says, "Oh, I thought she said she was staying on dry land last night."

(From DM) 'What if something happened to him?' Redspur says, thoughtful.

Donaar says, "We'd better go look for him."

Cason says, "I suppose."

(From DM) 'Okay, but how are we planning this? Do we have a strategy for fighting invisible monsters?' Redspur asks.

Celaeno says, "Try looking for their footprints in the sand."

Donaar asks, "They pretty much picked off my entire team. So, uh. No?"

(From DM) 'What about in the jungle, Captain?' Thilda points out, pointedly. 'No sand there?'

(From DM) 'Well, I for once will stay behind,' the haughty elf adds.

Celaeno says, "Okay, suit yourself."

Cason asks, "Do we even know which direction he went?"

(From DM) 'I'd come,' Redspur says firmly. 'Bardolph saved me. I owe him this much.'

Cason looks to see if he can find any signs of either Bardolph or anything else passing through here.

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 18 | 18 + 1 = 19

[slingergame] Cason says, "(Survival.)"

DM says (to Cason), "You find many footprints, faint but still there. You find the path that Bardolph made, pulling apart the jungle foliage."

Celaeno marches behind Cason.

(From DM) There doesn't seem to be any other tracks.

Cason says, "It looks like he went this way."

Cason follows the path.

Donaar follows behind.

DM says, "So you head deep into the jungle, with Redspur right behind y'all, in fox form."

(From DM) And...

(From DM) ... a baboon throws some fruit at Cason before disappearing into the canopy.

Cason exclaims, "Thank you!"

Cason eats the fruit, happy it's not salted pork.

(From DM) It's delicious.

[slingergame] DM says, "Albeit a little ripe."

(From DM) You continue through the jungle, and then emerge onto a small, stone-paved path cutting through the jungle. The path leads left towards a deep pit covered with scaffolding, and to the right you see a few skeletons.

(From DM) The path continues past the skeletons towards what appears to be a small city hidden in the heart of the jungle.

(From DM) Redspur the fox sniffs the air, trying to find the scent of Bardolph the eagle dude.

Cason asks, "Is this a burial ground?"

Cason asks, "Did they get interrupted before they could finish burying those people in the pit?"

Donaar looks around. "This city.. it was the colony. I'm not sure what's in the pit.

Celaeno says, "Many colonies don't make it, unfortunately."

Donaar says, "They were excavating *something*, but your guess is as good as mine. Everyone was dead when we arrived."

(From DM) The birds in the trees suddenly stop singing. There is a dead silence.

Cason shouts, "Bardolph!"

(From DM) Cason's voice echoes through the silence uncomfortably.

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Is there any sign of his trail?"

(From DM) Redspur sniffs again, and points a paw at the pit over to the left.

[slingergame] DM says, "No sign of -- oh, never mind"

Cason tries to uncover it.

DM says (to Cason), "The pit is like a well in the shape of a triangle, and there appears to be no obvious way down into its dark depths."

Cason asks (of Redspur), "You can smelll Bardolph down there?"

(From DM) Redspur leans down, then nods vigorously.

Cason asks (of Pit), "BARDOLPH?"

Celaeno says, "I've got 50' of rope right here"

Cason says, "I've got a lantern."

Cason asks, "Do we lower it down first, or just climb down?"

Donaar looks around nervously.

Donaar asks, "Does anyone feel like someone is watching them?"

Cason asks, "...no? Should I?"

Celaeno says, "That's just monkeys"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "This probably won't work, but I'm going to try it anyway."

Donaar opens his awareness and tries to detect evil forces.

[slingergame] DM asks, "How does that work?"

[slingergame] Donaar | The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or Undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the Vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the Hallow spell.

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "The paladin is your pal in deed"

Donaar says, "There's something behind me!"

(From DM) Redspur turns her head towards Donaar. She bares her teeth! And her ears go back.

Cason looks around.

Donaar readies his morning star and turns around, backing away.

DM exclaims (at Donaar), "You hear the sound of an invisible blade slide the air, inches away from your face!"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Did Celaeno tie the rope to anything yet?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I think I was still foofing around"

Donaar holds out his shield and speaks a prayer (turn the unholy).

[slingergame] Donaar | Each fiend or Undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes damage.

Cason throws Donaar a Bardic Inspiration!

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "Actually, I don't know if this works out of combat?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "We'll be in combat soon enough"

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Bardic Inspiration or Turn the Unholy?"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Turn the Unholy."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "I guess it can be the first thing I do in combat"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "When we get there"

[slingergame] DM says, "Speaking of which...."

Donaar clears the initiative.

DM registers Invisible = at init 23.

DM displays the initiative: Invisible =(23)

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "It doesn't say what the DC is, incidentally. Is it my spell casting DC despite it not being a spell?"

Donaar rolls 1 20-sided die: 7 | 7 + 2 = 9

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "That seems likely"

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 3 | 3 + 5 = 8

Celaeno registers Celaeno at init 8.

Donaar registers Donaar at init 9.

DM displays the initiative: Invisible =(23) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

DM removes Invisible = from the initiative list.

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 11 | 11 + 4 = 15

DM registers Invisible at init 23.

DM displays the initiative: Invisible(23) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

[slingergame] DM asks, "Okay, Cason?"

Cason registers Cason at init 15.

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "I'm not rolling for Redspur because I've learnt my lesson about NPCs."

DM advances the initiative: INVISIBLE(23) Cason(15) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

[Crows-Nest] Cason says, "Heh."

(From DM) An invisible blade slices through the air, towards Donaar!

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 6 | 6 + 5 = 11

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 7 | 7 + 5 = 12

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Nope"

(From DM) Donaar, having fought this sort of thing before, dodges instinctively.

DM advances the initiative: Invisible(23) CASON(15) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Was I able to do the Bardic Inspiration thing before combat started?"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Let's say you did it pre-emptively."

Cason first gives Bardic Inspiration to Celaeno as well as a bonus action.

Cason then uses his main action to tie the rope to something sturdy -- scaffolding, a tree, whatever.

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Those puppets are so inspiring"

Cason then uses his move to slide down the rope into the pit, away from the invisible monster!

[slingergame] DM says, "Wooooo"

Cason advances the initiative: Invisible(23) Cason(15) DONAAR(9) Celaeno(8)

Donaar prays upon his shield, casting turn the unholy against the invisible creature. WIS(15)

DM rolls 1 20-sided die: 5 | 5

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Or creatures, if there's more than one."

[slingergame] Donaar }

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Oops, one sec"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from you as it can, and it cant willingly move to a space within 30 feet of you. It also cant take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If theres nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "That was my action."

DM advances the initiative: Invisible(23) Cason(15) Donaar(9) CELAENO(8)

Celaeno kinda wildly stabs his rapier into the space that Donaar seems to be interacting with.

[slingergame] DM says, "Disadv."

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 10 | 10 + 6 = 16

Celaeno rolls 1 20-sided die: 13 | 13 + 6 = 19

[slingergame] Donaar says, "It occurs to me this was a bad idea, because now it's invisible and we don't know where it is, once it starts moving, but meh. Maybe we can run for it. Or I'll blast it with poison."

DM says (to Celaeno), "You hit only thin air."

Celaeno says, "Blast"

DM advances the initiative: END OF ROUND

DM advances the initiative: INVISIBLE(23) Cason(15) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

(From DM) There is a sound of air moving.

DM advances the initiative: Invisible(23) CASON(15) Donaar(9) Celaeno(8)

Cason has no idea that the others are fighting; he's still descending at top speed.

[slingergame] Cason says, "Which, by the rules, should apparently put me 37.5 ft down so far."

[slingergame] DM says, "Indeed."

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Let me know if I hit the bottom!"

Cason advances the initiative: Invisible(23) Cason(15) DONAAR(9) Celaeno(8)

[slingergame] DM asks, "Wait, wasn't the Invisible dude suppose to roll a WIS save again?"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "No, he failed and he's affected for 1 minute"

[slingergame] DM asks, "How many turns is that?"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Or until it takes damage"

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "10?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Ten."

[slingergame] DM says, "okay"

Donaar follows Cason into the pit. "Let's go!"

(From DM) You go down into the pit, which seems bottomless. For now.

DM advances the initiative: Invisible(23) Cason(15) Donaar(9) CELAENO(8)

Celaeno decides to get out while the getting is good.

Celaeno says, "I'm a-coming down, boyos"

Celaeno climb climb climb the rope.

(From DM) Redspur hops down as well.

(From DM) And you all land in a heap at the bottom of the pit.

Cason pulls himself far enough out of the heap to light a lantern.

(From DM) You see an archway, through which there is a passage lined with the statues of stone eagles.

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "This is surprisingly-effective. I would have thought, oh yeah D&D, of course I've fought a lot of invisible monsters before, but I'm not remembering much prior to this."

Celaeno says, "Maybe he went through there."

(From DM) Redspur sniffs the air, and nods her foxy nod.

Cason asks, "Do you know which way?"

DM says, "There's only one way."

Cason goes that way, then.

Cason exclaims, "Hey, BARDOLPH!"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "I shall use Performance to project loudly!"

Cason rolls 1 20-sided die: 12 | 12 + 8 = 20

Cason exclaims, "BAAARDOOOLPH!"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Stand back, we're professionals"

DM exclaims, "NO! WATCH YOUR STEP!"

Cason stops!

DM says, "(Bardolph's voice)"

Cason looks where he was about to step!

DM says (to Cason), "It's an innocent-looking floor tile."

Cason asks (of Bardolph), "WHY? WHAT'S THERE?"

DM exclaims, "THERE ARE TRAPS! I WAS LUCKY NOT TO GET KILLED! WAIT FOR ME, I'M COMING!"

Cason exclaims, "OK!"

Cason says (to Others), "Bardolph is coming."

(From DM) And you see Bardolph steps cautiously from around the bend in the hallway and all the way to you.

DM says, "'It's okay,' he says. 'I was right! This is home.'"

(From DM) 'Follow me.'

[slingergame] DM says, "I have less than 40 minutes to wrap this up, friends."

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "I'm with ya"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Ok"

Cason asks, "Er, don't we need to get back to the ship?"

Cason asks, "I thought we were going to the fox city first?"

Cason shrugs and will go with everyone else, though. He doesn't want to be left behind with the invisible monsters.

Celaeno follows him.

Donaar does, too.

(From DM) You follow Bardolph, and emerge into a chamber lined with giant, glowing eggs. 'I can hear them,' he says. 'They're inside, asleep... calling to me...'

Donaar uh, ok.

Celaeno says, "Hmm."

(From DM) Redspur turns back into human form. 'This -- this must be the Winged Tribe -- we lost contact with them ages ago -- my mother was worried, because they're supposed to guard the celestium mines.'

Cason asks, "Is this how eagle people are born?"

(From DM) 'I don't know,' Redspur confesses. 'I think this is some sort of protective spell.'

Celaeno asks, "Are there legends about other protectors, maybe invisible ones?"

[slingergame] Cason asks (of Redspur), "What's celestium?"

(From DM) 'Celestium's the antidote to abyssium, the only antidote there is. And I remember my mother saying not to worry about the Winged Tribe, that they had protection.'

(From DM) 'So,' Bardolph says, 'I am a member of the Winged Tribe. Liam Oakwillow always said he'd found me as a chick, abandoned on some island. This must be it.'

Donaar says, "Wow."

(From DM) 'Maybe,' Redspur suggests, 'maybe if we wake them up, the protectors will stop attacking us?'

Cason asks, "And how do you do that? Break the eggs?"

(From DM) 'I don't know! There must be something we can do!'

Donaar gives an egg a gentle tap.

DM says (to Donaar), "It glows brightly in the area where you touched it."

Cason says, "Helllloooo, egggs... please wake up."

Celaeno engages in a traditional kenku egg-quickening dance.

Donaar runs his hands all over the egg.

[slingergame] DM says, "hahaah"

[slingergame] DM says, "sorry, needed to check something"

(From DM) There is a swishing sound, and you hear footsteps.

Donaar looks up.

Cason looks for invisible monsters approaching.

Cason sees none, and is only more concerned about that.

Donaar shouts, "We're trying to help!"

(From DM) The footsteps stop.

(From DM) There is a suspenseful silence.

[slingergame] DM says, "heheh"

Donaar asks, quieter now, "But we don't know how."

[slingergame] Donaar asks, "Does the whole egg light up when I ran my hands all over it?"

DM says, "PROVE YOURSELVES FRIENDS, a hollow voice suddenly whispers. SHOW US THAT YOU ARE NOT ENEMIES OF THE WINGED TRIBE, OR FACE DEATH."

[slingergame] DM says, "The egg lights up, but nothing else happens."

Donaar looks pleadingly at Bardolph.

(From DM) Bardolph understands Donaar's look, and turns into an eagle!

Donaar says, "He's with us!"

(From DM) SON OF THE WINGED TRIBE, the hollow voice says, WELCOME HOME.

[Crows-Nest] Celaeno says, "okay everyone sing that Mighty Mighty Eagle song from the Angry Birds movie"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "hahah"

(From DM) And the eggs all begin to crack and expode with light...

Donaar covers his eyes.

(From DM) ... and then you are suddenly surrounded by people dressed in strange clothes, looking like they've been asleep for way too long.

Donaar uncovers.

Donaar looks around, for the invisible one. "You killed my friends," he says sadly.

(From DM) 'I am sorry for all this,' one silver-haired man says, stepping forwards. He wears a crown with wings on it.

(From DM) 'Our protectors care only for the safety of ourselves and what we are sworn to guard.'

Donaar nods, frowning.

(From DM) 'We are glad that you have brought our son home, glad that the time has come for us to awaken once more into a free world.'

Celaeno says, "Well... the world might not be quite as free as all that."

Cason asks, "So, um. If you're grateful... do you maybe have any decent clerics in your group?"

Cason asks, "Any who might be able to remove a curse? For a wererat friend of ours?"

(From DM) 'Oh, yes. And I see that the Red Tribe has sent an emissary to check on us.' Redspur fidgets. 'Tell your mother the celestium is safe.'

(From DM) 'I forget my manners,' he adds, patting Bardolph on the back. 'I am the High Lord of the Winged Tribe, and it will be my pleasure to help my son's friends.'

Cason says, "Oh, phew."

(From DM) Bardolph opens his mouth, gapes, stutters. 'I'm -- you're --?'

Cason says, "Her name is Daisy. She's back on the ship..."

(From DM) The High Lord catches Bardolph as he falters, and gives him a Dutch rub. 'Wererat curses? That will be simple enough. A pinch of celestium and a few spells, and she'll be back to normal.'

Cason exclaims, "Oh, good!"

Cason asks, "Um, if it's that easy to heal things... I don't suppose you could look at my arm, too?"

Cason holds it up, showing the nasty scar on his wrist.

(From DM) The High Lord smiles. 'That is nothing. We could grow you a new hand, if you feel like it, of course.'

Cason says, "Sure, as long as it's as good as the old one! I'm not fussy."

Cason exclaims, "Thank you!"

(From DM) 'There is a reason celestium is a precious resource, my little ones.'

(From DM) 'But I see no reason to begrudge you this. And besides, this way, you can help the Little Lady bring good news home to her mother.'

(From DM) Redspur looks a little miffed to be called 'Little Lady'.

Cason exclaims, "That sounds great!"

Donaar remains very quiet.

(From DM) 'What is the matter, soldier?'

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "If you don't want to be called little, then try being in a form more than one foot tall!"

Donaar shrugs. "Coming back here has been overwhelming."

(From DM) 'There is nothing I could have done. The protectors do their duty, and they do so blindly.'

Donaar says, "I understand."

(From DM) 'I myself deeply regret this, because the Pyrran Republic drove away the elves who massacred many of our kind and forced us to hide in this fashion. I sensed the injustice, even inside my shell.'

Donaar nods.

Cason asks, "I guess that's probably more than celestium can handle?"

(From DM) 'Celestium cannot bring back souls from the Afterlife. It can only stop death before the soul has left.'

Donaar asks, "Do you know what happened to the bodies?"

Cason nods.

(From DM) 'The protectors care little for the dead. I'm sorry. They must still be lying where they died.'

Donaar says, "Ok."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "I presume we didn't see them, so they must have died further away."

Cason asks, "So, after we take care of Daisy and pay appropriate respects to the remains of the soldiers, we're going to bring Redspur home as well?"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Unless they were the skeletons."

[slingergame] Donaar says, "oh, hm"

Cason asks, "Should we worry about Plutathros at all?"

Cason says, "I'm a little concerned he might come back for Daisy again."

Cason says, "Or for the book."

(From DM) 'Plutathros? He is a joke. You should fear the Older Gods more, those like Z'ahuraug and his kind. But those we will fight ourselves, three Tribes united.'

Cason says, "Ah, good."

[slingergame] Cason asks, "Then, uh. I'm not sure what else there is to do here at this point?"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Yeah I don't have anything else I really want to tie up, I don't think"

(From DM) He puts an amulet into Donaar's hand. 'If your people ever need help, this will allow you to communicate with me. The Winged Tribe, although it has rarely interfered in outside affairs, will come to your aid when you need it.'

Donaar says, "Thank you."

Donaar says, "I guess we should be going."

(From DM) And so the Winged Tribe perform strange sorcery, restoring Daisy to her ordinary form once more. (She still has a craving for cheese). And so Bardolph stays behind (and so does Thilda: she decides to help the Winged Tribe with the rebuilding of their city). And so you sail towards Crimson City.

Cason flexes his new fingers.

(From DM) It's a great, scary gate built into a cliff, wrapped in flames!

Donaar stares.

(From DM) Redspur says, 'That's it!'

Celaeno says, "No wonder it has stayed hidden for so long."

Cason says, "I dunno, you'd think that would be pretty visible."

(From DM) Redspur laughs.

(From DM) 'It's a special fire which burns only those who mean harm to the Red Tribe.'

Donaar says, "Miss Redspur, I would like to meet with your leaders."

Donaar says, "My mission was to return the abyssium stolen by Raw."

Donaar says, "And hopefully secure an alliance."

(From DM) 'Okay, sounds like you want to talk to my mother. Captain, sail through that gate! Don't worry, if you close your eyes it'll be fine!'

(From DM) 'Yeah, I forgot to mention that the gate only opens when you're not looking at it.'

Donaar closes his eyes.

Cason averts his eyes.

Cason asks, "How do you steer a ship without looking where you're going?"

(From DM) 'You have to trust me on this one!'

Celaeno says, "Oh alright"

Celaeno rolls her eyes all the way back.

(From DM) And so you pass through, eyes firmly shut, and then when you reopen them you're suddenly inside an enclosed bay, under a sunny sky! It's a lovely city with red painted houses and a tall crimson tower, from which you hear the sound of a bell ringing. The pier is alive with the sound of music, and red-haired people stop to wave.

(From DM) 'Home!'

(From DM) Thilda snorts. 'Crimson City. Picturesque.'

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Thilda stayed behind!"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "dammn"

(From DM) At least, that's the sort of thing she'd have said if she was there, which she isn't (being on the island with the Winged Tribe)

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "phew"

(From DM) But Thilda's not here to rain on anyone's parade. And the Icebird finds a safe mooring on the pier. Somebody recognizes Redspur and calls out 'Hey! It's the Little Lady! Someone go bring the news to the High Lady! Her daughter's home!'

(From DM) And you find yourself surrounded by fox people! There are some fox cubs who are particularly interested in Cason's puppets.

Donaar waves and smiles.

Cason puts on a show! It involves Redspur and Bardolph puppets.

(From DM) Redspur hugs everybody she meets, like old friends. You've never seen her so happy.

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "This may or may not deeply embarrass Redspur, but oh well!"

DM says (to Cason), "You're the new star attraction in Crimson City. The little ones love your show."

Cason exclaims, "Maybe I should stay here for a while!"

Celaeno hangs up her pirate hat for a while and takes a turn as a legit fisherperson.

(From DM) And the High Lady herself comes down, bodyguards at her side. She hugs her daughter, introduces herself as Hannah, and seems pleased to see Donaar.

Donaar bows to Hannah.

Donaar hands over the flask. "I think this belongs to you."

(From DM) 'Thank you. It's safer in our hands than out there, in the war-loving world.'

(From DM) 'I received word of your coming from the Winged Tribe.'

(From DM) 'I understand there is war brewing?'

Donaar nods. "Unfortunately. I represent the Pyrran Republic. They would like to form an alliance with you, against those who would harm innocents."

(From DM) 'I see! Well, I have heard that this new war might spread across the entire continent. If so, not even the Three Tribes will be safe. And there are enemies who will want abyssium to further their aims. Not to mention those pesky gods from times long gone.'

Donaar nods.

(From DM) 'I have always been in favour of forming alliances, rather than declaring war. Defending ourselves rather than attacking. So, yes, in the name of my people, I believe that we should join forces.'

Donaar smiles. "Thank you."

(From DM) 'But enough of this gloomy talk of war and dark things! Guards, have a feast orgnaized in the honor of my daughter's return! It is time to celebrate.'

(From DM) Everybody cheers.

Cason exclaims, "That's better!"

Celaeno says, "Huzzah"

(From DM) So you all join in the festival, which lasts a whole week. Fish, smoked hares, all sorts of delicious food, all sorts of dancing, all sorts of merriment.

(From DM) And everybody agrees that the fishes fished by Celaeno are tastiest of all.

(From DM) Daisy says, 'ARRRRR cheeses'

DM says, "THE END"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Woo!"

(From DM) (The camera pans out, flies over the borders of the kingdom, and across the mountains, until sunshine gives way to snow. There's a procession of slaves being driven by some nasty-looking elves)

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "yay"

(From DM) (The procession stops in its tracks, and the villains stare ahead through the blizzard....)

(From DM) (There is a half-orc in a hood, barefoot in the snow, barring their way.)

(From DM) (The evil elves draw their swords. But the half-orc only smiles.)

(From DM) ('Flee, villains... for you face...')

[slingergame] Donaar gasps

(From DM) ('THE GREEN FIST!')

[slingergame] Cason says, "Ha ha."

DM exclaims, "dun dun DUN!"

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "And now the post-credit scene is done."

[slingergame] DM says, "Yes! I managed to end this the way I wanted."

[slingergame] DM asks, "How was it for everyone?"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Victory and cheeses!"

[slingergame] Donaar says, "Excellent."

[slingergame] DM says, "Thank you. *blushes*"

[slingergame] Celaeno says, "Very enjoyable and nice work all around"

[slingergame] DM asks, "Noticed how this technically concludes the Cup of Mithros storyline too?"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Congratulations!"

[slingergame] Cason says, "Ha ha. Indeed."

[slingergame] DM says, "I'll be taking a break from DMing. Looking forward to that superhero RPG. ;)"

[slingergame] Cason exclaims, "Me too!"
