Tesseract says, "I don't even know why they've got this station on while people are trying to eat."

GM says, "As a matter of fact, it's Barney Clint's controversial talkshow, 'Barney Talks Shit'."

Remba exclaims, "I hate the idea thta someone invented me!"

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "How existential."

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "I am also puzzled by Remba."

GM says (to Lizzie), "A fly is buzzing around your head."

Lizzie swats it without thinking.

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "I assume she's taking offense at the idea that someone would suggest she was just made up (by Crane), when in fact she's real."

Tesseract goes out of focus for a few moments.

Lizzie asks, "What's he doing?"

Remba says (to lizzie), "He's checking out the future. Soon he'll surprise the waitress by already knowing her name or something"

Remba nudges Lizzie. "Guys, amirite"

Lizzie heh. "Neat."

GM says (to Tesseract), "It's all blurry and confusing. There are multiple potential timelines. But you isolate a few key elements... Middle Park... a platform... a speech... a smoke bomb... and then late at night... down in the sewers... rats crawling over a corpse... Senator Crane..."

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says (to Remba), "Now you're making me think of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2roa2AhhgbM that I just watched yesterday..."

Tesseract scribbles all of this down onto the back of a napkin before he forgets it, then shows that to Lizzie and Remba.

Tesseract says, "There's no one single path, but this is what I was able to see."

Remba asks, "She will be abducted from middle park?"

Lizzie says, "Looks like it."

Tesseract uses his phone to look up what events are going to be happening there this week.

Remba says, "I guess it's time to ...go green."

GM says (to Tesseract), "You remember that Senator Crane is supposed to make a speech later this afternoon at Middle Park."

Tesseract points to the article. "There. We need to be there. Before it happens."

Lizzie looks at a clock. What time is it now?

Remba exclaims, "To the Lizziemobile!"

Lizzie finishes her coffee. "Let's go."

GM says (to Lizzie), "It's half past noon. The speech is in a few hours."

Remba takes her milkshake with her

Lizzie oh. We've got time.

Tesseract says, "We should take a look around ahead of time."

Lizzie says, "Fair enough."

Remba nods.

GM says, "The channel on the TV changes suddenly, cutting off Barney in mid-sentence."

GM says, "A familiar face appears, somewhat pixellized."

Funny-Man says, "Hello? Is this thing working? This better be working."

GM says, "Red nose. Multicolor wig. It's him."

Lizzie looks up at the tv, looks at her companions, confused.

Remba exclaims, "Son of a Biscuit Eater!"

Funny-Man says, "I hope you Neighborhood guys are watching right now, because otherwise I'll be waiting at that bloody bridge for nothing."

Tesseract sighs.

Tesseract says (to Lizzie), "He's talking about us."

Funny-Man says, "It's high time I challenged y'all to a duelicious duel."

[Crows-Nest] Remba says, "Guys? C'mon, Funny-Man, it's 2019. Get woke."

Lizzie says, "You know this, uh, clown"

Tesseract says, "Escape *and* take a hostage. We didn't manage to capture him the second time, but we did get the hostage out, at least."

Lizzie says, "Well, that's something."

Lizzie asks, "So.. you should probably call him?"

Remba sinks further into her seat.

Tesseract says, "Yeah. We can do it on the way to the park."

Lizzie says, "Ok. Let's roll."

GM says, "So you guys step out of Falk's Diner? (after paying)"

Lizzie assumes Remba will take shot-gun and make Jack sit in the back despite being taller.

Lizzie picks up the tab.

Tesseract says, "Hey, thanks."

Lizzie says, "No problem."

GM says, "So, the moment you guys rush out the door..."

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "I'm glad that Jack has no real sense of how much danger is appropriate for Remba."

Lizzie looks at Jack. "They know?"

Tesseract nod to Lizzie. "Yeah."

Quint says, "Yes, young lady, one cannot hide everything from me."

Remba exclaims, "Well, um, what do you expect us to do? He said he'd kill millions. I only had 3rd grade math, but I assume that's a lot of people!"

Quint says, "Who?"

Tesseract asks, "Oh, you didn't hear the radio?"

Quint says, "No?"

Tesseract says, "That clown guy hijacked the frequency to say he's going to kill a bunch of peole if we don't give him a phone call."

Quint says, "The Funny-Man. I see."

Quint says, "Do you suppose he's behind this whole Senator Crane business? I don't see it, somehow."

Tesseract says, "He just wants attention, but we oughtta do something about it just in case he's -- as unlikely as this may be -- serious."

Quint says, "I see. Well, I can't stop you, but I can help you."

Quint says, "Now I really must get going. Lizzie, remember to stay out of trouble. I had several calls from your father, he wants to send a fleet of bodyguards after you because of this Senator assasination affair."

Lizzie rolls her eyes and smiles, "I'll be fine. I've got these two around."

[Crows-Nest] Remba says, "Hey, a fleet of bodyguards could be helpful in protecting her"

Tesseract sheepishly half-grins.

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract asks, "Where by 'her' you mean 'the senator'?"

[Crows-Nest] Lizzie says, "Problem solved! Just hang with the senator and have my bodyguards protect her."

[Crows-Nest] Remba exclaims, "Exactly!"

Tesseract waves to Quint and climbs into the back seat of Lizzie's car.

Lizzie hops into the driver's seat.

Quint waves goodbye. 'Good luck!'

Tesseract says (to Lizzie), "So, yeah, sorry I forgot to tell you, but Professor Quint knows about our schtick. He was kind of involved in an earlier incident."

Lizzie a ha.

Tesseract says, "But I'm pretty sure he means well. And he didn't actually end up killing anybody in the end."

Lizzie revs her engine, as she waits for Remba to get in.

Remba climbs onto the passenger seat.

Lizzie then drives off towards the park.

[peregaming] Remba says, "Sorry, I'm being distratced by some RL stuff"

[peregaming] Lizzie says, "No worries"

[peregaming] GM asks, "Do you call the Funny-Man now, or at the park?"

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "Now."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "Now."

Tesseract calls Mr. Mann on speakerphone.

Mann's voice answers. 'Oh, Flossy Tract, how nice it is to hear from you again.'

Remba says (to Mann), "That was really funny ... By the way, it's opposite day."

Mann's voice answers. 'Is there a little girl on the line?'

Tesseract says, "What do you want, Freddie."

Remba covers her mouth.

Tesseract says (to Mann), "We're not alone. So make it quick."

Mann's voice replies, 'A showy showdown, down by the river. On the bridge. You know, the thing that crosses rivers but never moves. Meet me there in twenty minutes. If you don't... the bridge blows. And some other places, too. Boom!'

Mann's voice replies, 'Fun fact: the bank wasn't the only place I rigged up.'

Lizzie's eyes go wide, but she says nothing.

Tesseract asks (of Mann), "You're actually going to pretend that you were involved with the bank this morning?"

Tesseract says (to Mann), "We all know that's way above your skill level, Freddie."

Mann says, "I've had a month to prepare."

Mann says, "Why do you suppose I robbed that bank multiple times, taking hostages... but no cash?"

Tesseract asks, "To prepare for what? Have you got some kind of <sarcastic>Master Plan</sarcastic>?"

Mann says, "My Mustard plan... served piping hot."

Remba says (to Tesseract), "Nice work."

Tesseract says, "Thanks.Alright, how do we want to handle this? We've got some time before the speech, so we could deal with this guy first. Or we could split up, some of us going to the park, and some of us to the bridge..."

Remba asks, "What do we do? Do you think he's bluffing?"

[peregaming] Lizzie asks, "Where is the bridge in relation to the park?"

[peregaming] GM says, "I'll say they're withing fifteen minutes of driving distance."

Tesseract says (to Remba), "Unfortunately, even if he's bluffing about having a master plan or killing millions of people, even killing one person is too many."

Remba asks, "I mean, if he plans to blow up the city, isn't that more important?"

[peregaming] Tesseract asks, "Are we going to decide for metagame reasons no to split the party?"

GM says, "So you guys drive towards the Yellow Doorway Bridge! There's a police roadblock just before it."

Sergeant Falk says, "The bridge has been closed off."

Sergeant Falk says, "Sorry, miss."

Remba asks (of falk), "Why, Mr. Policeman?"

Sergeant Falk says, " (To Remba) Well, some very bad men have set up some dangerous equipment in the middle of the bridge. It's very dangerous, and we're waiting for reinforcement."

Lizzie looks back at Jack questioningly.

Remba asks, "Oh! That does sound incredibly dangerous. Are these superhero guys there yet?"

Sergeant Falk says, "Sorry, we haven't seen them yet. They might be on vacation."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "I'm trying to remember how much I know about Lizzie's powers."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "Because I am fine with her encouraging the cop to just let us through."

[peregaming] Remba says, "We could back up and return in superhero form"

Tesseract takes off his button down shirt revealing his Tesseract t-shirt underneath and puts on his mask in the back seat.

Tesseract says, "Alright -- I'm going to blip over a little closer to see what I can see -- I'll be right back."

Lizzie says, "be careful."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "My thought: teleport from one piece of cover to another, until I get close enough to Create Advantage with Notice, then teleport back."

Tesseract says, "I have a hunch it might be another hostage that he's painted up to look like him."

SATSAM hyperjumps out of cover into the middle of the bridge! He begins spinning around, blasting every which way without, for some reason, hitting any dynamite or cars, but cutting all the lasers her can find. He ends up facing the tent again. Inside, overheating alarms blare, but Remba grins widely. "Hey Funny-Man, sorry, your joke has been ... cut."

GM says (to SATSAM), "As you come closer, you feel a strange sense of... attraction? A mysterious force is pulling you closer..."

SATSAM stomps toward the tent. "Come out of there! Your reign of terror is over!

[Crows-Nest] SATSAM says, "Remba always wanted to say that."

Tesseract waits until it's clear, then teleports in just behind SATSAM.

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says (to GM), "Also, I'm reminded of a joke:"

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "Then one day, he gets a phone call from his little brother, Bobby."

Tesseract says, "Oh, crap. He's not as stupid as I thought."

GM says, "You're pretty sure this is a lift magnet. And it starts reversing out of the tent... pulling SATSAM..."

[peregaming] Tesseract exclaims, "If only you had some kind of device that would interfere with electromagnetic devices!"

SATSAM tries to counter, but the machine is to strong. SATSAM is pulled along in a rain of sparks.

(From SATSAM) Remba hits that armband.

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "'Mostly OK, Mike. But your cat's dead.'"

GM says (to Remba), "Okay."

GM says (to Remba), "You were expecting a jolt."

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "'What? How... how can you just drop something like that on me? Couldn't you break the news a little more gently?'"

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "'What do you mean, Mike?'"

GM says (to Remba), "You weren't expecting... a freaking EMP."

GM says (to Remba), "Which completely shuts down SATSAM."

[peregaming] Lizzie says, "oh shit"

GM says, "The rest of you just see SATSAM go rigid, then shortly afterwards..."

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract says, "'Well, like, first you could call me and say that the cat got stuck in a tree and you're trying to get it down. Then later you could call and say that it fell out of the tree, and it's hurt, but you're bringing it to the vet. Then later you could call and say that the vet did everything they could, but it didn't pull through.'"

SATSAM is slowly sinking tot the bottom. But the moment has been prepared for. She unwraps her backup battery from aluminum foil and tries to get the ejector to work.

SATSAM says, "So basically a huge, duct taped ball of bubble wrap shoots out of SATSAM and bops on the surface."

Mallory says, "Like the fact that he has a CIA badge in the name of Fernando Manning."

Mallory says, "Allow me to demonstrate *empties the Funny-Man's pockets*"

Funny-Man says, "Don't kill me. I... I was just following orders..."

Tesseract asks, "And how did you happen to notice that *before* emptying his pockets?"

[peregaming] Remba asks, "How long till the speech?"

[Crows-Nest] GM asks, "Let me see... an hour and a half?"

Tesseract grabs Freddie by the back of his shirt collar and blips off to hand him in to Sergeant Falk.

Falk says, "Thank you, oustanding citizen!"

Tesseract asks, "Sure thing. Now try not to let him get away this time?"

Falk says, "No worries."

Tesseract says, "By the way, he's claiming that he's with the CIA -- he even has an ID -- but it's probably fake, and even if it didn't, what he did is still illegal, following orders or not."

Falk says, "CIA? Those guys. Hate 'em."

Falk says, "All that Jason Bourne stuff, smashing up cars and whatnot."

Tesseract nods. "Yup, this is your jurisdiction, not there's."

Tesseract exclaims, "Don't let them get in your way!"

Tesseract waves and blips back to the group.

Mallory says, "So, you're Tesseract... and SATSAM... and Emoji? Do you have an official name or...?"

Tesseract says, "People just call us 'The Neighborhood'."

Lizzie grimaces at "emoji". "Um, this is temporary."

Tesseract says, "Well. By 'people', I mean Youtube commenters."

Tesseract gives Remba a suspicious 'how many Youtube accounts do you have?' look.

Lizzie asks, "And like I said, I'm just visiting. I don't need a name?"

Mallory says, "If you say so."

Tesseract's phone alarm goes off.

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "I hope it means there's an hour before the speech."

Tesseract says, "OK, we need to get going -- nice to meet you, Mallory."

[Crows-Nest] Tesseract exclaims, "It does!"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "yay"

Mallory says, "Sure you don't need help?"

Lizzie says, "Maybe she can-- yeah, that."

Tesseract shrugs. He says to Mallory, "That's your call."

Mallory says, "I mean, I don't have a mask or a superhero name or anything... but I guess..."

Mallory says, "I might as well."

Remba asks (of Tesseract), "Can you warp me to the Quint's house?"

Tesseract says, "Sure, that's not too far from here. It'll just take a few minutes."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "So, here's a question:"

Remba says, "Great! I'll meet you at Middle Park"

[peregaming] Tesseract asks, "Given that I accepted the compel earlier, does that mean that I'm still obligated to accept further negative consequences from it for myself, or does Remba's little accident resolve it?"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "Well, only if she told you how the accident happened."

[peregaming] Tesseract asks, "And she didn't, did she? So I have no reason to be suspicious of Quint yet?"

[peregaming] GM says, "Indeed, as far as I can see."

[peregaming] Remba says, "Remba thinks it was an honest mistake"

[peregaming] GM steeples his fingers.

[peregaming] GM says, "Exactly... as... planned.."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "Then I think that tele-hopping from here to Quint's place and then from there to the park would take up a lot of energy."

Remba says, "I'll have to tell him to tone down his EMP ! This one was helpful, but too powerful"

Tesseract carries Remba piggyback, just like SATSAM carried him that one time, as they blip across town and finally pop into the living room of the Quint house.

[peregaming] GM steeples more fingers.

Lizzie asks, "Well, do you want a ride to the park?"

[peregaming] Remba exclaims, "Eep, spiderfingers!"

Mallory says, "Yeah, but I'm a little tired."

Lizzie says, "Hop in."

Mallory hops in. She has a violent coughing fit, then puts on her seatbelt.

[peregaming] Remba | Even later, Jack gets a text in the middle of the night,a picture of a metal man, sporting impressive angel wings (also made of metal).

Tesseract asks, "So, uh. 'SATSAM' for short?"

[peregaming] GM says, "Tesseract beat you to the punch."

Remba picks up her backup backpack. "Let's go."

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "I hope this one is SATSAM 200X or SATSAM Violent Purple Enigma Force or something like that."

Lizzie makes small talk with Mallory while she drives, paying attention to her responses and her voice and catching glimpses of her face while appearing mostly focused on the road ahead of her.

Lizzie asks, "So, what, you just happened to be in the right place at the right time?"

GM says (to Tesseract), "It feels slightly harder to teleport than usual, but that's probably nothing."

Remba says, "With the new suit, I could impersonate the senator"

[peregaming] GM asks (of Lizzie), "So Mallory opposes with Rapport, right?"

[peregaming] GM says, "Indeed it is."

Remba exclaims, "I could impersonate the senator!"

Tesseract is constantly looking around while they're talking. He's trying to pay more attention to his surroundings and what's going on here than at the actual conversation he's having.

Tesseract says, "That depends on where the danger's coming from."

Mallory says, "Fair point."

Tesseract asks, "What do you think? Did your research suggest anything on that front?"

Mallory says, "All I know is that the CIA won't be involved in this. I mean, technically the assassination attempt already boosted her polling results. So the CIA aren't going to try again. So it's got to be foreign agents or terrorists."

[peregaming] GM says, "She's about to start her speech."

Remba says, "I mean, that faceless guy attacked her before. So maybe it will be another faceless dude again."

Lizzie says, "We'd better think of something quickly, guys."

Lizzie says, "And uh, gals."

Tesseract says (quietly, aside to Remba), "Hey, does the new SATSAM have radio receivers? Do you think you could rig up something to eavesdrop on any phones, bluetooth, walkie talkies, stuff like that here in the park?"

Remba shakes her head. "It's controlled liquid metal, mostly concerned with shapeshifting. And I can fly (kind of)!

Remba says, "Of course, if you give me your phone and that radio over there, I could rig something up"

Tesseract nods appreciatively. Flying. That's pretty cool.

[peregaming] Remba asks, "Create advantage with crafts?"

[peregaming] GM exclaims, "Yep!"

Tesseract suddenly looks really woozy and grabs a nearby tree to steady himself.

Remba asks, "I know it's a bad time, but I'm having, some, uh, er, boy trouble, and it's urgent, and, uh, can I talk to you over there?"

Tesseract finds his old bottle of No-Doz in his pocket and opens that up instead. The one that he used earlier, in the fight at the bank. When he finished off the last of the pills in it...

Lizzie asks, "Um. Right now?!?"

Remba says, "Yes, he, uh, uh, just texted me, and uh, I need some advice now."

Lizzie looks at Remba, and probably reads something on her face, and sighs. "Ok."

Senator Crane says, "(on the podium) Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you, San Frangeles, for having me today ... (more blabla)"

Remba walks Lizzie a few paces away (where she can keep an eye on Jack and Mallory), and tells Lizzie what she saw.

Lizzie says, "That's impossible. She seems so nice and helpful. Though.. hm."

[peregaming] Tesseract wonders if Lizzie Likes Mallory is about to get a compel.

[peregaming] Remba says, "Can I try an use Empathy to break through ... yeah"

Lizzie tries to read Mallory again when shes hopefully not paying attention to us over here.

[peregaming] Tesseract says, "(AFK a moment.)"

Lizzie swears up a very quiet storm.

GM says, "She's extremely neutral towards you guys, except you, for some reason. Mallory really doesn't like you. And she is also feeling excitement and anticipation at something she's about to do. Something violent and sneaky."

Remba twists her thermos. The air around her flicks and shimmers, and in her place appears a featureless, vaguely humanoid form made of reflective metal.

[peregaming] GM says, "I think it's a good time for init."

Lizzie walks back to Mallory and Jack. She says to Mallory quietly, but suggestively, "You'd better not do anything to cause trouble for us here."

SATSAM says (to mallory), "Get away from him, you, you ... bitch." And Remba's form spreads a form of angelic wings while there is a short chime of a children's chorusm going "aaaaah""

Tesseract nods, unsurprised, but disappointed to have been right.

GM says (to Lizzie), "You hear Mallory's voice behind you. 'You have no idea.'"

GM says, "And it's INITIATIVE TIME"

Tesseract, finally, blurs out of focus, as the cup slips through -- like, literally through -- his hand.

GM says (to Tesseract), "You see Mallory transforming into a fly, flying behind the Senator, pulling her backstage as she morphs back into Mallory, then morphing into the Senator and stepping back onto the podium, with the Senator knocked out unconscious under some curtains."

[peregaming] SATSAM asks, "doesn't the audience notice that?"

[peregaming] GM says, "Yes, but it's so fast it just looks like her bodyguards pulled her back out of the way, false alarm..."

Tesseract uses his movement to *not* reappear in the park after blurring out -- but (unbeknownst to Mallory) to reappear backstage!

[peregaming] GM exclaims, "Nifty!"

(From GM) Then something begins to slide under the door. It creeps up like a tendril, forming a pair of cartoony hands, which tap the guard on the shoulder.

(From GM) The guard turns around, pointing a gun. The cartoony hand... flips him the bird.

(From GM) CUT TO BLACK. Voiceover. 'I'm feeling kinda... funny today.'

GM says, "CRESCENDO OF MUSIC"
