[slingergame] DM asks (of Rashawndra), "Which one would you pick?"

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "Metamorphic or Muttering both sound interesting."

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "Blissful would be on point ;-)"

[slingergame] DM says, "I like Metamorphic"

[slingergame] Rashawndra exclaims, "Let's go with that, then!"

[slingergame] DM says, "Okay, I need to look up one or two things, why don't you guys do a quick recap"

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "Quick recap: we were dead, something resurrected us, Astaforth banished us, now there's a dragon?"

[slingergame] Vraklul exclaims, "I am Vraklul Wellington, half-orc Barbarian. I come from a small communal village called the Happy Valley, where everyone is treated fairly and everyone works together. I had a dream about some great evil thing, so I left home, went on a quest, met a bunch of other people, and eventually -- with the help of my sidekicks here -- vanquished said evil!"

[slingergame] Quarion says (to Vraklul), "that can wait until we meet Rashawndra"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Then a halfling lich, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, showed up and killed us all."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "(We had met him before. He had seemed eccentric but not *that* evil the first time. But now I'm starting to think he might be a villain.)"

DM says, "So ..."

Quarion floats.

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Then some mysterious force resurrected us, ticking off Astaforth, the lich, who tried to banish us to the Astral Plane instead."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "And then, as we were wondering what to do next..."

DM says, "You are adrift in the void between the Worlds, the grey nothingness between. You see a tiny dragon, far far away. Vraklul has just accidentally set Siri, your trusty notebot adrift, and she paddles her feet helplessly and bonks the other tiefling in the head."

[slingergame] Rashawndra asks, "Which is me?"

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "Wait, Rashawndra was already banished to the Astral Plane before us?"

[slingergame] Quarion exclaims, "Perfect!"

[slingergame] DM exclaims, "Which is you!"

Vraklul asks, "Hey, hello. You're here too?"

Rashawndra grabs Siri out of the ether. "Hey, little guy! You okay?"

(From DM) Siri says, "User not recognized."

Rashawndra asks (of Vraklul), "Hello! Are you the guys I was supposed to meet? Were trying to stop the portals and stuff?"

Rashawndra awkwardly spins around in midair.

Vraklul asks, "Oh, yeah, the ones with the hooked things coming out of them? That was us. Do you know if we did it?"

Rashawndra exclaims, "I don't know! Someone dropped a ceiling on me!"

Shaborys says "Greetings, Sister," in infernal.

DM says, "(you all drift and spin awkwardly out of each others line of sight constantly)"

Vraklul says, "Oh, yeah. Man. I hate it when that happens."

Rashawndra exclaims (at Shaborys), "Oh, hi!"

Vraklul says, "Oh, by the way, I'm Vraklul Wellington. And we're the Knights of Varg Gijak."

Rashawndra says, "That's right, they mentioned another tiefling was with... was, uh..."

Quarion asks, "I'm Quarion. Nice to meet you -- wait, I don't think I caught your name?"

Rashawndra says, "Rashawndra Iallanisdottir! I'm not a knight of anything, though I think they say I'm a Favored Soul od Iallanis."

Vraklul asks, "Neat. Who's Iallanis?"

Quarion gets poked in the eye by his own floating Wand of the War Mage. 'Ow.'

Rashawndra says (to Shaborys), "Holy crap you are gorgeous. They did *not* mention that. Do people tell you that all the time? Sorry, I'm sure it's obvious, but I just couldn't not say it. You are amazingly good looking."

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "By the way, is Horst here (but simply quiet and we all agree to ignore that fact), or do we notice him missing IC?"

Shaborys blushes, despite herself.

[slingergame] DM says, "The former"

Rashawndra says, "Iallanis is a god of the Giants! She's the goddess of love, forgiveness, mercy, and beauty."

Shaborys just turns redder, I suppose. It's not that obvious.

Rashawndra says, "They adopted me when I was an infant."

Vraklul says, "Oh, neat. We met some giants a while back."

Rashawndra says (to Shaborys), "(in Infernal) Sorry! I'll try to keep it down."

Vraklul asks, "Do you know <name of the giant who gave them that info about where to find the lake and stuff which I can't be bothered to look up in the transcript>?"

Rashawndra says, "Are you all feeling OK? I have some healing magic if you aren't."

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "That's a very good question. *Are* we recovered from our wounds, after being dead and resurrected and now banished?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Yes"

[slingergame] DM says, "You are at full HP, spell slots etc."

Vraklul says, "I... y'know, it's weird, but I think I am, actually."

Rashawndra says (to Vraklul), "Ew, fire giants? Those guys are ridiculous. I was raised by the Ice Giants in the White Lands."

Quarion says, "Thanks, but I for once am feeling oddly good."

Shaborys says, "I am feeling fine."

Rashawndra bites off a response to Shaborys.

[slingergame] Shaborys says, "haha"

Rashawndra exclaims, "Um, right. Oh! Right! I wanted to meet you to tell you something!"

Rashawndra says, "Hang on, I wrote it down."

Quarion asks, "Would that be the piece of paper floating right above your head?"

Rashawndra says, "That mad paladin you guys fought mentioned something about dragon's bones, right? I was doing research, and found a memoir of a Frost Giant who had been travelling in the area."

[slingergame] Shaborys asks, "Oh my god. You have a jug that can be filled with mayo?"

Rashawndra exclaims, "That's it!"

Rashawndra snatches it back.

[slingergame] Rashawndra exclaims, "Yup!"

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Crap, OK, who was the mad paladin we fought? And what did they say about dragon's bones?"

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "Sorry, which mad paladin?"

Rashawndra says, "OK, here's what he wrote:"

[slingergame] DM asks, "The guy from horst's temple who went mad and then summoned the ghouls?"

[slingergame] Vraklul exclaims, "Oh, him!"

Vraklul asks, "Is your throat feeling alright?"

Vraklul says, "I could make you a sweet tea if you need it."

Rashawndra says, "Oh, do you not know Ice Giant? That makes sense; sorry. Uh, right, to translate:"

Rashawndra | And I heard the tale that agents of the Darkness did indeed steal the dragon's bones where they lay in the mountains. And it is said that they took them back to the dark itself.

Rashawndra | And that if the dark returns, the reborn dragon will be it's herald. And it will be as pure shadow, untouched by sword, or magic or age.

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "(for the record, Ice Giant is apparently Burmese."

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, ")"

Quarion thinks of a certain prophecy, and suddenly feel more confident.

Vraklul asks, "Huh. Speaking of dragons... has anyone else noticed that one over there?"

Vraklul reaches out towards it. "And can anyone tell if it's actually really tiny or just really far away...?"

Quarion says, "I think the latter's more likely"

DM says, "The tiny dragon slowly grows bigger, but once it is around the size of a human head, something odd happens, it just grows ... nearer. Finally, cat-sized dragon swims elegantly through the void near you, its scales shimmering in all hues of the rainbow. It finally lands on Quarion's hat."

[slingergame] DM says, "Damn, too slow"

Shaborys says, "Tiny dragon!"

Quarion says, "I was wrong."

Rashawndra says, "Um. I guess you guys have your own M.O. by now, but, uh, oh. OK, then."

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Colors of the rainbow? Does that mean it's a chromatic dragon, not a metallic one?"

(From DM) The dragons voice is surprisingly deep for his size as he says, "Hello Bastaforians! What's all this then?

[slingergame] Quarion says, "Also, for reference, I have a woolly hat with floppy sides"

Shaborys asks, "Hello, uh. How would you like to be greeted?"

[slingergame] Rashawndra asks, "Like Jayne's?"

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Or is it maybe silver and is just reflecting other colors because it's so shimmery?"

[slingergame] DM says (to Vraklul), "That's a good question"

DM says, "I am the Voidwanderer! Do you have some cookies or sweets?""

Shaborys looks at the others. "I don't usually carry sweets ,as I don't particularly care for them. Anyone?"

Rashawndra exclaims, "I have some honey!"

Vraklul says, "Hello, Voidwanderer! I'm Vraklul Wellington."

Rashawndra says, "I'm Rashawndra."

Vraklul says, "I think I have some dried fruit in my pack."

Vraklul pulls out some dried apricot pieces and offers them to the catdragon.

DM exclaims, "hello!"

Quarion looks up at the catdragon on his hat, squinting. 'Guys, I am confused on so many levels now.'

DM and he peers down over the brim at Quarion. "Hello, sorcerer!"

Quarion says, "Wizard, actually. Name's Quarion. Sorry about my manners in not saying so sooner."

(From DM) He carefully grabs a apricot from Rashawndra and gobbles itr down whole.

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "(Vraklul, but either way)"

DM asks, "What are you all doing in the void? It's super dangerous and I guess kinda boring if you can't fly?"

Quarion says, "We were banished here by some halfling lich guy."

Vraklul says, "I think we're mostly just introducing ourselves at this point."

Rashawndra says (to Voidwanderer), "Do you know how to get out of here? Because you're right."

DM says, "Liches? That's still a thing?`"

Quarion says, "Sadly, yes."

Vraklul says, "Yeah. And this one turned out to not be a very nice one."

Rashawndra makes it her new life goal to get to a point where she can say 'Liches? That's still a thing?'

[Crows-Nest] Quarion asks, "Has there ever been a *good* lich?"

DM asks, "Most of them are kind of bad. I guess halfling liches are extra bad because they'll miss food?"

Vraklul asks, "...liches can't eat?"

Vraklul exclaims, "That's terrible!"

(From DM) He flies up and perches on one of Shaborys' horns.

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "Out of context, this looks like 'He' refers to Vrak rather than the dragon"

Vraklul says, "But that still doesn't explain why he killed us, I don't think."

DM says, "Yes! Unless you mean soul energy or whatever. But why did he banish you here? That's super weird and cost a lot of energy. I bet that guy is veeeery hungry right now."

Quarion says, "Well, his first move was to drop a ceiling on us."

Shaborys keeps her head as still as possible. Cat dragon is surprisingly lightweight.

Quarion says, "We were dead for a few seconds and then, poof, we came back to life for absolutely no reason."

DM asks, "He killed you and THEN banished you? Why are you not dead?"

Quarion asks, "I have not the foggiest idea?"

DM asks, "Are you dead?"

Vraklul says (to Voidwalker), "I wish I knew! We had just gone and killed a malevolent entity from another plane of existence called the Blood-Forged Chain, and then he shows up and murders us."

(From DM) He pokes Shaborys on the nose.

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "Agains, 'He' looks like Vrak rather than the dragon's actions"

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "Darn ambiguous pronouns"

Shaborys asks, "I don't feel dead?"

DM says, "Weeeird"

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Hmm. Do we feel qualitatively different from how we did when we *were* dead?"

Shaborys says, "He seemed pretty upset about something right before banishing us here."

Rashawndra says, "I felt dead, and then I didn't feel dead, and then I was here."

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "(If I'm understanding correctly)"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "That's it."

DM says, "Well, you usually banish demons or powerful entities to the void, or someone you want to trap, but not kill"

[slingergame] DM says, "yeah"

Vraklul says, "When we were dead, I think someone else resurrected us."

Vraklul asks, "So I guess maybe the lich wanted to keep them from just doing that again?"

Rashawndra asks, "So, maybe he couldn't kill us, then?"

Rashawndra says, "Man, I'm lucky I was near you guys when I died."

Vraklul asks, "Hey, does that make us powerful entities?"

Rashawndra asks (of Voidwalker), "So, how do demons or angels or whomever get *out* of the void?"

(From DM) The dragon flies over and lands on Vraklul's back. "you feel like a normal half-orc to me."

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Aha! They usually return to their plane - Hell, Heaven and whatnot. There is a way back to Bastafore but it's incredibly dangerous"

Vraklul asks (of Dragon), "Cool. I guess. Hey, what exactly are you?"

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says (to Dragon), "Hey, don't be so sure. We can be *very* credulous."

(From DM) The dragon climbs on Vrak's shoulder and looks kind of sad for a second. "Who I was is lost for me. I am the Voidwalker, and always was."

Rashawndra asks, "Are there easier ways back somewhere else? Somewhere we could find a different way to Bastafore?"

Quarion asks, "Or a different part of Bastafore?"

Rashawndra makes a high-pitched 'awwwwww' at the dragon's sad story.

Quarion says, "It doesn't have to be Wolfwater, after all. We defeated that Blood-forged chain, we've done the job."

Vraklul says (to Dragon), "I suppose you wouldn't know whether or not you're related to Argenschwinge, then."

DM says (to Quarion), "Well, last I checked there were 3 thin places in Bastafore. In Wolfheim or whatever, in the Tallhyll Mountains and in the Desert of Silence."

Quarion says, "Oh. Right."

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Tallhyll being where our dwarf friends were from?"

DM says, "I met Argenschwinge once! Time is kind of funny here, but it's been a while. He was always nice, but a bit old and stuffy. I hope he's doing okay."

Vraklul exclaims, "I hope so too!"

Vraklul says, "I heard he was a pretty good guy."

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "He busted the balls of Evil"

DM says, "Well, the thing is, it's already pretty hard to go back, so I think you"

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says, "DM says, "ONE BALL! How many times do I have to say this?""

DM says, "*cough You're only chance would be the way you came."

Vraklul says, "Yeah, fair enough."

Quarion asks, "Okay, but my question remains: how?"

Rashawndra exclaims, "Oh, maybe those portals are still open!"

Vraklul says, "I mean, there might still be an evil lich there who can kill us all with one word, but I suppose we can deal with that when the time comes."

DM says, "Now, I could tell you this way BUT, by an old law I just made up it's customary to give me a gift for my hoard."

[slingergame] Quarion exclaims, "!"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "heh"

Vraklul asks, "What do you hoard?"

DM asks, "What do you have?"

Rashawndra asks, "Do you want a story?"

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Oh, I have enough stories. The stories of everyone who comes through here. Every one but my own."

Vraklul checks his pack. "More apricots... some spare axes... a bunch of gold coins... a blanket..."

Shaborys holds out some shiny ball bearings.

DM exclaims (at Shaborys), "Oh, more snacks!"

Rashawndra says (to Voidwalker), "Do you know where your story might be? We could look for it."

DM The voidwalker gulps down a ball bearing.

Shaborys smiles.

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Sadly, no."

[Crows-Nest] Shaborys offers up bits of string and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff.

DM asks (of Vraklul), "Oh, how many coins are we talking there?"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "I have 21, but I probably held out a handful of half a dozen as an example while offering them."

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "Is it one gift per person?"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "(Most of my money went toward buying paying Davina.)"

Rashawndra says (to Voidwalker), "If you don't want a story, would you like a song? I've been trying to capture 'the oldest song'. My version doesn't really do it justice, but it's a start."

DM says (to Vraklul), "Pfft, that doesn't make a great gift"

DM says (to Quarion), "Hey, neat idea. A gift from everyone."

[slingergame] Quarion says, "f***"

Shaborys mutters, "Thanks, Quarion"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "that was OOC"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Hee."

[slingergame] DM says, "Suuure"

Vraklul asks, "Oh, do you smoke?"

DM exclaims, "Yes!"

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "Ha"

Vraklul takes out a handful of his special blend and offers it to the dragon. "Try this!"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Actually, let's say I give him a whole pouch, rather than a handful of loose tobacco, since that would be silly and awkward."

(From DM) The Voidwanderer takes the tobacco, rolls it into a ball and stuff it into his gullet. Soon, a bit of smore appears and seems unsure where to drift.

[slingergame] Quarion says, "So, I can give the dragon A) my hat B) a potion C) my quarterstaff D) Bloodfang"

(From DM) He takes some sealing wax from Shaborys.

Vraklul asks, "What do you think? Is that a good gift?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Bloodfang is not here"

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "How come?"

[slingergame] Quarion asks, "Was he not banished?"

[slingergame] DM says, "He was not with you in the Underground"

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "I'm hoping it's because he didn't go into the dangerous underground with us maybe?"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Phew."

[slingergame] Quarion says (to DM), "oh okay"

DM says (to Vraklul), "Yes"

[slingergame] Shaborys says, "All dogs go to heaven. Or that."

Vraklul smiles.

DM says (to Rashawndra), "I can't put a song on my hoard."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "So: ball bearings from Shaborys, tobacco from me..."

Rashawndra says, "Your hoard is clearly inside you, and that's where memories go, too."

[slingergame] DM says, "Oh right, forgot the ball bearing. Shaborys keeps her wax."

[slingergame] Shaborys says, "The wax was a joke, anyway :) (Puff the Magic Dragon?)"

[slingergame] DM says, "hah"

DM says (to Rashawndra), "I still haven't gotten any gold"

Rashawndra asks, "Ever?"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "I think I am going to give him my hat which I got from the gnomes. It's cozy."

[slingergame] DM says, "Aw"

DM exclaims (at Quarion), "Thank you, this is perfect!"

(From DM) The Voidwanderer curls around the rim.

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Not lately"

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Perhaps offer him a choice of gold: metal coins, or liquid honey."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "He might prefer the latter."

Rashawndra says, "Well, I do have twenty gold pieces, but you're giving up hearing the song. Oh, well."

Rashawndra exclaims, "Oh, right, or honey!"

DM exclaims, "Oh, I'll take honey!"

Rashawndra exclaims, "That's gold *and* sweet!"

[slingergame] DM asks, "This is from your magic pot, I assume?"

Rashawndra pulls out a jug, whispers to it, and then opens the cork on top. Honey begins to float out into the ether.

(From DM) The Voidwander gleefully floats around and gets honey everywhere on it, some even presumably in his mouth.

(From DM) Okay, that was great. Now listen, to go back to Bastafore you have to build a bridge. But, not, like physically, but with memories.

Rashawndra grins at the delight of the dragon, and seems to not mind getting a fair amount on herself.

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "I think our Crownsford adventures were secretly 'Role-playing Boot Camp with Jota' for us all"

[Crows-Nest] Rashawndra says, "Hee"

[Setting the zoned flag.]

Shaborys hmms. With memories?

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says, "Ha."

(From DM) "But, as soon as you do that, the Guardians of the Void will take note. And they do not like people building bridges, oh no. So as soon as you start, get ready for trouble.

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Hee"

Vraklul asks, "Should we all try to build a bridge to the same place?"

Rashawndra asks, "Do the guardians have any weaknesses?"

Rashawndra asks, "Or strengths?"

DM asks (of Vraklul), "I assumed you want to go back to Wolfwater?"

Vraklul says, "Oh, right. Good point."

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Ah, they are the Shapeless Ones. They can take many forms."

DM says, "But as soon as they do, they are limited by that form."

Vraklul asks, "Are the Guardians bad guys?"

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "Why do I sense this is not going to go the way we think..."

Vraklul asks, "Or is it possible to, like, talk to them?"

DM says (to Vraklul), "They have been here since the dawn of time itself, trying to keep the void clear of interlopers."

Vraklul says, "Well, hey, that's exactly what we want, too."

Rashawndra asks, "And they don't like people leaving?"

Vraklul exclaims, "We're interlopers, and we want to be clear of the Void!"

Quarion says, "Seems... paradoxal."

DM says, "They don't like people building bridges. And that's the only way to get out."

Rashawndra says, "Because people might come back the other way, I guess."

Vraklul says, "I guess maybe I shouldn't ask *how* they keep the void clear of interlopers, then."

DM says, "Think of it this way : They want the Void to stay the way it is. And even though these bridges are temporary, they still interfer with the nature of the void."

DM says (to Vraklul), "Oh, they'll try and kill you."

Vraklul says, "Yeah, that's what I was afraid of."

DM says, "See, when you die, you go to the Astral Plane, as you are supposed to. You are not supposed to *go back*"

Quarion says, "That makes perfect sense, I guess."

Quarion says, "Speaing of which..."

Vraklul says, "Although you'd think the Guardians would still be unhappy with all the corpses lying around."

Rashawndra asks, "Might there still be a bit of the bridge left that brought us here?"

[Crows-Nest] Quarion asks, "Horst has decided to stay in the Astral Plane?"

[Crows-Nest] Quarion asks, "Presumably for religious reasons?"

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says, "I believe Horst is still with us."

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says, "Just, y'know, being quiet."

[Crows-Nest] Vraklul says, "And presumably giving the dragon a present when the rest of us weren't looking."

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Oh, the guardians dissamble them quickly. That's another thing: As you as you start to build, there is only the way forward."

Horst says, "Hello! I am here! Just tired"

[Crows-Nest] Quarion exclaims, "!"

Vraklul asks (of Dragon), "Oh, by the way, you don't think the Guardians would want revenge against whoever sent us here in the first place, do you?"

Vraklul says, "Since that would be pretty convenient for us."

[Crows-Nest] DM says, "Yeah, the character is here, but since Roger isn't, he's just sort of ... there."

DM says, "They are not that complicated creatures, I am afraid."

Vraklul says, "Ah, well. I suppose we'll have to do what we have to do."

Quarion asks, "So, basically we need to focus on memories of Wolfwater?"

DM says, "Great! Good luck."

Vraklul exclaims, "Thanks!"

Shaborys says, "Much obliged."

Rashawndra asks (of voidwalker), "Can you help?"

DM says (to Quarion), "Or on any place in Bastafore you've been too, that you like."

Vraklul exclaims, "I hope we meet again someplace considerably less inconvenient next time!"

DM says (to Rashawndra), "Alas, I have to stay."

Quarion says, "Well, it's been nice to meet you, Voidwalker."

Quarion says, "Maybe we shall meet again some day."

Vraklul says, "So the memories don't all have to be of the place we're building the bridge to? That helps."

Rashawndra exclaims (at VB), "Aww, we'll miss you. And I'll keep an eye out for your story!"

DM says, "YOu too, Bastaforians! I hope you get the better of that halfling lich."

[slingergame] DM says (to Vraklul), "So describe to us what you're thinking of"

Vraklul thinks back to his home. In particular, to when he was first learning to control his emotions through meditation, in order to channel his rage to defend his friends and family.

[slingergame] DM asks, "And what does it look like there?"

Vraklul was sitting in front of a campfire at night, smoking his pipe. It was a clear night, and the stars were all out, but no moon. There were crickets. He was alone at the time, but he could hear voices in conversation and song from nearby houses.

DM says, "You all find yourselves there, besides him. Only there is no sky, around you is still the void. It's like floating on an island. There is path that leads out of the village, ending in the void."

Rashawndra says, "Hey, you remembered gravity! Thanks."

Rashawndra exclaims, "Let's go before the guardians get here!"

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Am I the me who's meditating, or am I next to that me?"

Rashawndra dashes off down the path.

Quarion runs after Rashawndra

[slingergame] DM says, "You're next to Vraklul"

[slingergame] (from Quarion) Joseph Gordon Levitt says, 'Paradox.'

Vraklul takes a second to look at himself for the first time from the outside.

DM asks (of Rashawndra), "As you try to dash down the path, something *forms* in front of you. It looks like a giant bipedal, lizard?"

Vraklul doesn't interfere with his memories of himself, though. After a moment, he follows the rest.

[slingergame] DM says, "Ah, sorry, I thought that was Quarion. No, you are just you."

[slingergame] DM says, "You are the one meditating."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "Oh. OK."

Shaborys follows the others, but stays a safe distance behind.

[slingergame] DM says, "Sorry"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "That would have been pretty mind-bending, though."

Vraklul opens one eye and sees the rest of the party, somehow here in the Good Valley.

Vraklul says, "Oh, wow."

DM asks (of Vraklul), "Do you run towards the others?"

Vraklul gets up off the ground, looks around, then follows the others. Still a bit distracted by what just happened, but knowing they need to hurry on.

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "I follow, but probably not running."

DM says, "The dinosaur takes a step forward, blocking the path and roars angrily.... And there are answering roars from the forest to the left and right."

[slingergame] Vraklul says, "So I'm likely a few paces back from the group when the lizard appears."

Vraklul asks, "That's not good. Is this... this isn't real, right?"

[slingergame] Rashawndra asks, "I would like to cast Minor Illusion to duplicate myself going left around the lizard, while I go right. Is that reasonably in scope of Minor Illusion?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Hm, good question"

[slingergame] Rashawndra says, "(p260 of the PH)"

Vraklul asks, "I mean, it's only a memory... they can't hurt..." He looks at the houses of the village. "There aren't *real* people here in danger, are there?"

Shaborys says, "Besides us? I don't know."

[slingergame] DM says, "What you're trying to do is a bit too close to Mirror Image for me."

Vraklul can't risk it. He goes back into the village to look inside of the first apparently-occupied house he sees.

Quarion points a wand at the bipedal lizard, his other hand shielding Rashawndra (out of sheer force of habit). 'Let us pass. We're not supposed to be here, and we're leaving.'

[slingergame] Rashawndra asks, "OK, then how about a bird circling around its head?"

[slingergame] DM says, "That works"

DM says, "Let's toll Ini, because everyone is doing something else it seems"

[Crows-Nest] (from Vraklul) DM says, "Create Advantage using Lore, versus..."

Rashawndra remembers back when she was little and needed some time away from the giants: there was a twisty mountain path that she would go where they wouldn't fit, that led to a little alcove in the face of the mountain. The mountain winds would blow down the path, and she would let her hair stream free behind her. She remembers a time going down there during a spring snowstom when she was eight, the tiny snowflakes stinging her face delightfully. (Rashawndra has cold resistance, and didn't really remember that you all might not? It's cold. But hey, the dinos are too large to fit down the path, and also don't have cold resistance!) (Also, GM's call whether the cold actually does anything, of course.)

[slingergame] Vraklul exclaims, "Ah, the next bridge piece!"

DM says, "Great! There suddenly appears a twisty mountain path, attached (barely) to the Good Valley. As soon as it appears, the Good Valley at the opposite ends begins to dissolve."

Vraklul says, "Uh, yeah, I could use some, actually."

[Crows-Nest] Rashawndra says, "OK, an L3 cure wounds for Vraklul:"

Rashawndra places a hand on Vraklul and mutters under her breath.

Vraklul says, "Whew. I feel, literally and precisely, 100% better."

Quarion waves his hands until they glow blue, then gently taps Rashawndra on the forehead. A shimmering, transparent barrier forms around her, flickering softly. 'There. That'll do the trick.'

Rashawndra pats Vraklul on the shoulder. "There you go. You've been amazing; the group is lucky to have you."

[Crows-Nest] Quarion says, "Your AC is now 14. Enjoy :-)"

Vraklul exclaims, "Thanks!"

[Crows-Nest] Rashawndra says, "Yay"

[slingergame] DM says, "Aw"

[Crows-Nest] Rashawndra says, "I might overspend on Shaborys, but I can try anyway? 1d8+4."

DM says, "So, just as you all are healed up, you notice two things"

Vraklul asks, "Alright -- hey, is this the last part of the bridge?"

Quarion exclaims, "I thin so!"

Shaborys rolls 1 8-sided die: 5 | 5 + 4 = 9

Shaborys says, "Thanks!"

Vraklul asks, "What do we need to do to get to the other side? Just... all remember Wolfwater or something?"

Rashawndra's eyes twinkle. "Any time, Shaborys."

Shaborys quickly looks away.

DM asks, "Firstly, at the end of the path, you see something that looks like ... a wound, or a hole, in the void. It seems to be filled with some sort of gelatinous substance, and through it you can make out menaningless shapes. Mayve you'll see more if you're closer?"

DM says, "The second thing is, the forest is full of eyes. Lots and lots of eyes."

Shaborys shudders.

Vraklul asks (of Quarion), "So, this probably isn't exactly how you remember the forest, I assume?"

Vraklul says, "The eyes, I mean."

Vraklul says, "Looking at us."

Vraklul says, "Watching us."

[slingergame] (from Shaborys) Quarion says, "That's totally normal. What?"

DM says, "Then you hear a sort of massive shuffling sound."

Quarion says (to Vraklul), "You know better than to ask."

[slingergame] Vraklul asks, "Wait for the shuffling, or get up close and personal with the goo at the end of the tunnel?"

[slingergame] Quarion says, "The latter."

[Crows-Nest] Rashawndra says, "Yeah, let's go."

[slingergame] Vraklul exclaims, "Goo it is!"

Quarion exclaims, "We're so close! We can make it!"

Quarion runs towards the goo!

DM asks, "So you all run up to the goo and through it, you can make out vague shapes, like maybe 3 or 4 persons?"

Rashawndra doesn't need a second urging, and takes off running, frost springing from her footsteps in the forest.

Vraklul touches the goo with one hand.

DM says, "And you can hear voices, as if through a thick wall. And one, a female one says, "No! What do you want? Get away from me!""

[slingergame] Rashawndra asks, "Does it seem like the wound is where the path is leading?"

[slingergame] DM says, "Yeah"

Rashawndra frowns and dives into the goo!

Vraklul follows.

DM says (to vraklul), "It feels like ... jelly? Soft to the touch."

Quarion dives after Vraklul

Shaborys stares. And shrugs. And does the same.

DM says, "You sort of both bounce, er three, er, all four bounce off."

Shaborys oh.

Vraklul carves into the goo with Orcsbane!

DM says, "you hear an unfamilar voice through the goo : "Just give us the dog, lady. Would be a shame to hurt you over a mutt like that.""

DM exclaims (at Vraklul), "Roll damage!"

[slingergame] Vraklul exclaims, "Oh no! Bloodfang!"

[slingergame] Shaborys says, "Nooooooo."

Quarion focus his magical energy, and his eyes glow red! Suddenly, amidst the wood creatures, a 5-foot-diameter sphere of fire appears, setting them on fire!

DM exclaims, "swoosh!"

(From Quarion) And to make things even better, the ball of fire moves around to target as many as possible.
